Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Massa, that the resignation as submitted by Harvey Stuart$ Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners be ace-epted effective date of resignation to be July 15, 1963- Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that William A. Polaski, of Monongahela, Pennsylvania$ be appointed as Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners replacing Harvey Stuart; this action to be effective July 16, 1963• Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Russell Marino be appointed as County Statistician in the Office of the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners; this action to be effective July 16, 1963. Roll call vote takent Mr. Cummins - Yes Mr. Pettit - Yes Mr. Mazza - No Motion carried by a vote of 2 to 1. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Alex Stathas, be appointed as an employee at the -Surplus Food Department; this action to be effective July 16, 1963. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummri.ns, second6d by, Mr. Pettit, that Judith Petroski, be appointed as a temporary clerk in the Tax Claim Bureau; this action to be effective July $, 1963. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Patricia Rozich, be appointed as a temporary cleft in the Tax Assessment Office replacing Rita Rlifanti, this action to be effective July 5, 1963. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. July 19, 1963 Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins, and Mazza. Also present being: Mr. Hormell, County Solicitor; Mr. Polaski, Chief Clerk; Mr. Yuhas of the County Engineer's MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT. J. BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Office; Mr. Bradshaw and Reporter Crouse. Following matters brought to the attention of the Board by Mr. Yuhas of the County Engineer's Offices 1. Letter dated July 17th from the Department of Forests and Waters referring to the relocation of a tributary of Chartiers Creek, locally known as McClanes Run. After some discussion the following motion was made by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Department of Forests and Waters be notified to undertake the necessary studies of this project in order that additional improvements (which are necessary) could be made on Chartiers Creek. 2. Cost of material for constructing a building to house the fire truck, which was donated to the County by the Federal Goverment is approximately $940.00. Fire truck to be used at the Washington County Airport. 3. Mr. John F. Wiley reported to Mr. Yuhas that the bill as presented by Frank Gavlik, Contractor, Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, for the removal of a gob pile located across from Andy Brothers Tire Shop near the Beatty Trucking Firm, should not be paid at this particular time. Work is not satisfactory. 4. Reports have been received that children are destroying plaques located at the entrance to the Washington County Airport. Airport manager.to be notified. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Commissioners approve an Agreement with John E. Tarr of Chartiers Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, for the leasing of a building located rear 2125 North Main Street, Extension, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of the storage of surplus food commodities. Lease Agreement for a period of three months at the rate of $35.00 per month. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the application for County Aid from the Liquid Fuels Tax Funds, as submitted by Ellsworth Borough, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be approved in the amount of $3,000.00, contingent on approval by the Department of Highways. This amount to be used for improvements in said Borough as outlined in their application which is on file in the Engineer's Office. Motion carried unanimously. �. Motion by Mr. Cumminsp seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County enter into an A ament with The Termitol Company, 3567 Bigelow Boulevard, Pittsburgh 13, Pennsylvania, (this being a renewal contract); for servicing the main administration building, Washington County Home and Hospital for Men, located at Arden, Pennsylvania, this being a five (5) year contract for the total sum of $723.92. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Solicitor be directed to proceed with a petition to permit the dismatling of the Bentleyville Bridge as per our contract. Said bridge is located on former Township Road 511 adjacent to Limited Access Highway Ili 62052 (now Federal Highway 70 S) in Somerset Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania* Lotion carried unanimously.
