The percentage of the total cost of the above and the amount of the liability which Washington County will assume is to be determined at a later date by agreement to be made with the Pennsylvania Department of Highways and this Resolution is intended only to manifest an intent to contribute toward the total cost of damages at a later date. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the 1963-1964 coal contract for the delivering of coal to heat the Courthouse and Jail Buildings, be awarded to the WILLIAM CLA.RK COAL COMPANY, Hickory, Pennsylvania, they being the lowest responsible bidder, at the following prices per ton: Mr. Polaski: $6,43 per ton including delivery Notion carried unanimously. According to the County Engineer's Office, the Harmon Creek Coal Corporation was the lowest bid on one item for the furnishing of coal for the two County homes; however, their bid does not meet with the specifications as advertised. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the 1963-1964 coal contract for the delivering of coal to heat the Washington County Howe and Hospital for Men and the Home for Aged Women, R. D. 1, Washington, Pennsylvania, be awarded to JUDSON WILEY & SONS, 404 South Main Street, Washington, Pennsylvania, they being the lowest responsible bidder, at the following prices per ton: Egg Coal Lump Coal Motion carried unanimously. $7.30 per ton including delivery $8,58 per ton including delivery Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: 1963 ATTEST: CHIEF CLERK NO. 359 A Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 30, 1963 Board of County Commissioners met in special session for the purpose of opening bids for the furnishing and delivering of the necessary ballots, election supplies and ballot boxes required for the conducting of the Municipal November Election to be held Tuesday, November 5, 1963, with the following being present: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins, Mazza, and Deputy Controller Luketich. Also present being Chief Clerk Polaski and bidders. Meeting called to order by Chairman of the Board, Francis E. Pettit. In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, the following bids were opened and read. BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller inviting proposals for the printing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary ballots for the conduct of the Municipal November Election to be held Tuesday, November 5, 1963, having examined the attached specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to furnish said ballots in accordance therewith at the prices set forth: Approximately 115,000 regular white official ballots price ioer thousand for ballots furnished. $ 45•00 Approximately 23,000 pink official specimen ballots for election districts price per thousand for ballots furnished. $ 25.00 Approximately 200 regular blue absentee ballots, and as per specifications as hereinafter set forth, price per lot for ballots furnished. $285.00 Approximately 200 regular white official Military ballots, and as per specifications as hereinafter set forth, price per lot for ballots furnished. $285.00 Nine single sets for specimen ballots as set forth in attached specifications, price per nine sets $104.00 For printing, binding and delivering any re -run of a ballot 9 of any election district because of error on the part of any county employee, Minimum charge per district for re -run 100 ballots or less $ 8.25 Charge per 100 re -run ballots for same district in addition to minimum charge $ 3.75 A certified check In the amount of $500.00 is enclosed herewith as evidence that the bidder will accept same and carry out the conditions of the contract in case of award.
