JOHN MAZZA. COMMISSIONERS Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr.Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Arthur Hampiton, be appointed as a Fireman at the Washington County Home for Aged Women replacing Alfred Rasel; this action to be effective October 24, 1963. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr.Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Edward J . Shuba be appointed as temporary (six weeks) extra help at the Washington County HojAe and Hospital for Men; this a ction to be effective October 16, 1963. Mr. Shiba is replacing Blair Kieffer. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Jack Ringling be appointed as Chief Mechanic replacing John Andy at the County Garage, this action to be effective October l6, 1963. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr.Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: ozz , 1963 ATTEST;�� CHIEF CLERK NO. 375 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., November 1, 1963 Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Pettit and Cummins. Also present being County Solicitor Hormell, Assistant Solicitor Yablonski, Chief Clerk Polaski and Mr. Bradshaw. Meeting called to order by Chairman of the Board, Francis E. Pettit. Following correspondence was read by Mr. Pettit, 1. Letter from S.J. Irvine, Chairman, Southwestern Penna., Regional Planning Commission, requesting the County's share of the 1964 Commission's budget, during the months of January, May, and September, 1964. 2. Letter from Postmaster of the Washington area, requesting votes for your favorite postal carrier, at a penny a vote to promote project for the needy. 3. Letter from Congressman Morgan acknowledging letter from the County of Washington regarding applications for the Courthouse and Jail Projects under the Accelerated Public Works Act. 4. Letter from the Washington County Firemen's Association, requesting their 1963 budget appropriation, in order to promote Fire Prevention Week. No action was taken on the above correspondence at this time. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of $7.98 be made payable to Frank J. Docktor Estate, c/o William C. Porter, Esq., said refund to cover a portion of Personal Property Tax paid on July 18, 1963. Tax was paid during the year 1963 in the amount of $317.47 which included notes in the amount of 42100. These notes were satisfied during 1962, and were not a part of the estate as of January 1, 1963. Therefore, the Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $7.98 payable to Frank J. Docktor Estate, c/o William C. Porter, Esq., Washington Trust Building, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried. w2 MINUTE BOOK BOARD,OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT, J. BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS --- Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $37.42 be made payable to Thelma W. Phelan, R. D. 6, Washington, Pennsylvania, to cover a portion of Personal Property Tax paid for the years 1959 through 1963s inclusive. Mrs. Phelan paid her personal property tax for the above years, including tax on two Pennsylvania Turnpike Bonds. Recent information received informs that these bonds are exempt and should not have been taxed. Therefore, the Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $37.42 made payable to Thelma W. Phelan, R. D. 6, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried. Motion by Mr.Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for the following materials, for use on and to be delivered to the Hough Bridge #53, Chartiers Creek, located on Route 18, near the Monterrey Restaurant. Mr. Yablonski at this time requested that the Commissioners agree to affix their signatures to checks in connection with the trust arrangements for children under the Child Welfare Services. This suggestion was agreed upon by the Board of Commissioners. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County adopt the following resolution for the changing of existing'width, line and location of State Highway Route 62090, Section 3, and agree to share 10% of the cost. R E S O L U T I O N BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Washington County that the Plans submitted for the changing widths, lines and location of State Highway Route 62090, Section 3, from Station 0115.69 to Station W95.08; all in North Strabane Township, Washington County, have been examined by the County Commissioners and they agree that Washington County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the changing of the above named highway as contemplated by these plans; or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of this highway; or any damages resulting to any propery holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will the County assume any damages resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying the property affected by this improvement; but that Washington County will contribute the sum of Four Thousand One r L
