Hundred Ten (,110.00) Dollars,toward the payment of property damages due to the improvement
of State Highway Route 62090, Section 3.
This contribution by Washington County is made with the understanding that
payment will be due and payable in 1964, and only upon certification f rom the Secretary of
Highways that t he sum of Four Thousand One Hundred Ten - ($4,110.00) Dollars, has been expended
by the Department of Highways for the settlement of property damages for the aforesaid improvement.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the meeting be adjourned.

TNO. 376 Office of the County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., November $, 1963
Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following
members being present: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins, and Mazza. Also present being County
Solicitor Hormell, Chief Clerk Polaski, Mr. Bradshaw and Mr. Bukowski.
Meeting called to order by Chairman of the Board, Francis E. Pettit.
Following correspondence was read by Mr. Pettit.
1. Letter from Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of Surplus
Food, stating that Pennsylvania will adopt a new plan of
operations and eligibility standards to be effected May 1,
1964, in compliance with Federal government regulations.
2. Letter from City of Wheeling, West Virginia, inviting
representatives of Washington County to attend a meeting
of the Wheeling, Creek Watershed sponsors to be held in the
Council Chambers in Wheeling on November 9, 1963s at 10:00
a.m. (Mr. McAmbley, Director of the Redevelopment Authority
will attend).
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the resignation of
William A. Polaski, Chief Clerk tQ the County Commissioners, be accepted; this action to be
effective November 13, 1963.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr.Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Courthouse becA.osed on
Monday, November 11, 1963, in observance of Armistice Day.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Hormell informed the Board that The County is involved with several
appeals on the U.S. Steel CompanY's assessment and that Stephen Marriner, Esq., representing the
company, requested a meeting with the County Commissioners next week. The purpose of the
meeting will be for ciscussicn and to apprise the Commissioners of their intentions. (Meeting
to be held Friday, November 15, 1963s at 1.30,p.m.).
At this time Mr. Bukowski requested permission to purchase one of the old
vehicles which the County is planning to sell as junk. Mr. Bukowski said that he has no
