BLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that We, Washington County, concur with the City of Pittsburgh and the County of Allegheny in objecting to the removal of local and suburban passenger train service in the Western Pennsylvania area including said Counties: Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington, Armstrong, and Beaver. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Helen Huber, Clerk in the Tax Assessment Office, be granted a leave of absence effective the 16th day of November, 196,3. Mrs. Huber to notify the Board of Commissioners at such time that she is physically able to return to work. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr.Cummins, that the regular County Commissioners meeting be postponed from Friday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m., to Monday, November 25th at 9:30 A.M. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: 1963 ATTEST: a,-- CHIEF CLERK�� d---------------- NO. 379 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., November 27, 1963 Board of County Commissioners met in special session with the following members being present: Commissioners Pettit, Mazza, and Controller Elish. Meeting called to order by Chairman of the Board, Francis E. Pettit. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that it is hereby resolved that the County Commissioners of Washington County have no objection to the Manufacturer's Light & Heat Company replacing the 8" gas transmission line which is presently installed across the easement which the County has in the Chartiers Creek, Chartiers Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. It is understood that this line will be laid in the same place as the present 8" line and that it will in no way obstruct the flow of the said creek, nor will it in any way, interfere with and/or obstruct the present plans for widening the said Chartiers Creek. Motion carried unanimously. At this time, 11:00 a.m., Peter Elish, County Controller, entered the meeting for the purpose of opening bids for the sale of used motor vehicles and also, materials for the Hough Bridge No. 53, Chartiers Creek. Said bids originally scheduled to be opened on November 25, 1963 at 10:00 a.m., but due to the death of President John F. Kennedy, the Washington County Courthouse was closed and meeting postponed until today, November 27, 1963. Mr. Elish read the following bid for materials to be used at the Hough Bridge No. 53, Chartiers Creeks November 8, 1963
