SLATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS the County Commissioners could not have acted otherwise except to wait for their Solicitor's opinion. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Cliver N. Hormell, Esq., of L23 Third Street, California, Pennsylvania, be appointed to serve as the representative of Washington County on the Port of Allegheny County Authority Board to serve for a term of five (5) years, beginning on December 6, 1963. The Acting Chief Clerk is directed to notify the Port of Allegheny County Authority of said appointment forthwith and Mr. Hormell is to assume his duties as the representative of Washington County on said Board immediately. Motion carried unanimously. Reporter Crouse entered the meeting at this time. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Solicitor be authorized and directed to satisfy the Judgment on file in the Prothonotary's Office at No. 279 November Term 1962, MB., for the claim against the Estate of Mike Podish. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mazza reported that the Department of Forest and Waters has the flood control project at the R.C.A. plant well under way. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried unanimously. THE "'CREGCINC MINUTE READ AND APPROVE'): 1963 ATTEST: _`� ACTING CHIEF tk-------------------- NO. 382 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., December 13, 1963 Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members being present: Commissioners Pettit and Mazza. Also present being County Solicitor Hormell, Mr. Cromwell of Washington County Planning Commission, Mr. Bradshaw and Mrs. Edith Sprowls of Martin Lumber Company. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Agreement made between the Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning Commission and the County of Washington to cooperate in the acquisition of open space under the "Open Space Land Program" as defined in Section 706 of Title V11 of the (Housing Act of 1961, F.L. 87-70 42 U.S.C. 150) be approved and said agreement to be signed by the County Commissioners. Motion carried with Mr. Cromwell leaving the meeting. At this time Commissioner Cummins entered the meeting and Reporter'Crouse. Mrs. Sprowls, representing Martins Lumber Company , stated that a letter was directed to the County Solicitor, requesting payment for work done on the Juvenile Detention Home some 10 years ago. Mr. Hormell pointed out that the letter was returned to the Post Office due to insufficient postage. Mr. Hormell requested the Commissionerts indulgence in reviewing the letter when received as the request was valid. However, final decision by the Board is reserved until the County Solicitor prepares a statement on this matter. Motion by Mr.Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the resignation as submittec
