action being effective on February 1, 1955. Notion carried unanimously" After some discussion
pertaining to rectifying the error the following notion was made. Motion by Mr. Lane., seconded
by Mr. Mazza, that the subject of the salary of Irene Steed be tabled until a legal opinion from
Chief County Solicitor Frank J. Docktor is received.
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time., the meeting
adjourned.

Pettit., Lane and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Lane,, seconded by Mr. Mazza,, that William Crockett, Chief Deputy
with the Bureau of Weights and Measures, be granted an extended leave of absence., this action
being effective on January 16,, 1956.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane., seconded by Mr. Pettit., that Alex Stathas., be appointed
Assistant Superintendent of Bridges., this action being effective on January, 16., 1956.
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meet-
ing adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in rdgular session,, those present being Commis-
sioners Pettit and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit., that the County Controller be
authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing Fleet Insurance in a reliable and approved stock
company for public 2iability., property damage., comprehensive A.C.V., fire, theft and collision
coverage on trucks., automobiles and road -building machinery owned and operated by Washington
County; such bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office in the Courthouse, Wash-
ington., Pa.,, until 11:00 a.m,., Friday., February 10., 1956 and opened immediately thereafter in
the Office of the County Commissioners.
