In accordance wig the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
for the delivering of ballot boxes with election supplies for the General Election to be held on
November 6, 1956, to Judges of Election for the one -hundred eighty-eight (188) Precincts of Wash.
ington County, I (or We) propose to deliver said ballot boxes with election supplies to the
various Judges of Election for the sum of:
$550.00
A certified check in the amount of $100.00, made payable to the Washington County
Commissioners, is enclosed herewith as evidence that the bidder will accept same and carry out
the conditions of the contract in case of award.

Charixman of the Board of County Commissioners, Francis E. Pettit, ordered that
the bids be tabled due to the 3a ck of a quorum.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners met in special session at 1:30 p.m., for the purpose
of awarding the contracts for the furnishing and delivering of election supplies for the General
Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 1956, those present being Comlai.ssioners Pettit, Lane
and Controller Elish.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the contract for the printing

and delivering of the ballots for use in the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November
6, 1956, be awarded to the MONONGAHELA, PUBLISHING COMPANY, Monongahela, Pa., and the WARD PRINT-
ING COMPANY, Washington, Pa., for the prices as set forth in their joint bid; being the only
responsible bidder.
Approximately 100,000 regu3a r white official ballots:
Price per thousand for ballots furnished .......................................... 39.50
Approximately 20,000 pink official specimen ballots for election districts:
Price per thousand for ballots furnished .......................................... 19.50
Approximately 200 regular white official military ballots, and as per
specifications as hereinafter set forth: per
