Motion carried unanimously with Mr. Elish leaving the meeting. At this time, the following regular business was conducted. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Robert Smouse, be appointed as a temporary employee in the Field Crew of the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retro- active to October 16, 1956. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: Novemb 3 , 195 ATTE � I� Chief Clerk 5 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., October 29: 1956 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Commissioners Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of 12.92 be made payable to Emily F. & Taylor Cheeseman, R. D. 1, Eighty Four, Pa., due to an ator- payment of the 1956 County Tax. On June 27, 1956, Mr. Cheeseman, paid his 1956 County Tax on property assessed in North Strabane Township, described as 99 acres surface, 8 room house, tool shed and garage, Hayes Pease, at net in the amount of $64,79, On October 8, 1956, this tax was reduced by correction slip from the Tax Assessment Office on acreage to read 66 acres instead of 99 acres making the tax at face to be $51.87, as a portion of this original assessment was a duplication. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $12.92 payable to Emily F. & Taylor Cheeseman, R. D. 1, Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $2.10 be made payable to Jay M. & Lela McKeehan, Jr., West Middletown, Pa., due to a duplicate payment of the 1956 occupation tax. On July 30, 1956, Mr. McKeenan paid his 1956 County Tax on property assessed in the Township of Independence, described as Foundation, 0.7892 acres surface, Part of V. Smith Tract, the occupation for he and his wife was included on this tax card making a total amount of $4.18 paid on said date. On July 30, 1956, Mr. McKeenan paid an occupation tax in the amount of $2.10, on individual tax cards being that he and his wife were assessed with an occupation tax in West Middletown Borough, thus causing a duplicate payment. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the mount of $2.10 made payable to Jay M. & Lela McKeenan, Jr., West`Middlet wn, Pennsylvania. � -1 1 1 Motion carried'unanimously, ;6
