Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Commis-
sioners Pettit and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Jesse L. Grubbs, be appointed
as a Field Crew Worker in the Tax Assessment Office, this action being retroactive to February
18, 1957. +
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Washington County purchase from
C. R. Breese and Corabell Breese, his wife, a parcel of land, situate in Sow Franklin Township,
Pennsylvania, for the sum of $3,511.50, bounded and described as follows; and Solicitor Frank J.
Bocktor, is hereby authorized to draw up necessary deed for said purchase.
Beginning at a paint in the Township Road leading from United States Traffic
Route No. 40 to Pennsylvania Traffic Route No. 18, said point being corner to the parcel herein
conveyed, land of D. C. Johnson, land now or formerly of Frank Moore Heirs, and lands of Milton
0. Moore, et, ux.; thence alorgthe land of Milton 0. Moore, et. ux., North W 29f East 818 feet
to a post; thence along the same, South 560 21, 05" East 539.85 feet to an iron pipe in line of
land of Washington County Airport; thence along line of said Washington County Land, South 370
591 West 719.95 feet to an iron pipe; thence along same South 34o 211 East 243.64 feet to a post;
thence along line of land of Milton 0. Moore,, et. ux., South 300 15' West 291,21 feet to a point
in the Township Load before mentioned, and thence in said Township Road North 550 531 West 110.10
feet to a point; thence North 440 411 West 460 feet to a point, and North 210 151 West 343 feet
to the point at the place of beginning. Containing 14.596 acres, as per survey of Goo. D. Iarlms,
Registered Engineer, May 12, 1956.
Motion carried'.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Washington County purchase a
Four moor, 1957 Pontiac Chieftain from Steele Pontiac, Inc., Murtl.and Avenue Extension, Washing-
ton., Pennsylvania, for the use of the Office of the District ,Attorney, for the price of $21,395.
this being the lowest quotation received.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount
0f $266.44 be made payable to Arthur A. Hays, 154 South Wade Avenue, Washington, Pennsylvania,
due to a duplicate payment of his 1956 personal property tax. On June 19, 1956, Mr. Hays paid
said personal property tax, which was a duplication with the same stuck filed for him by the
Mellon rational Bank and Trust Company as Trustee. Therefore, the Personal Property Department
