LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS 1 1 1 No. 159 office of the County commissioners Washington, Pa., September 36, 1957 Board of county Commissioners in regular session, those present being Commissioner Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr, Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution be adoptel: WHEREAS, the urban regions of Washington county lack comprehensive plans for their future growth and development and are in need of planning to re -develop area that are deteriorat- ing because of their location near industry and commercial developments which make them undesirable for residential purposes and as the townships which pumund our urban areas need subdivision controls and zoning to protect property values and preserve desirable industrial land, the county has agreed to participate in the Regional Planning Commissions that are established in Washington County as provided by the Regional Planning Law of Pennsylvania. WMMS, the central Washington County Communities have established the Central Washington Regional Planning Commission with the understanding that the County would join their planning commission and participate financially in contracting for a regional comprehensive plan s of this area and would furnish office space and facilities for a resident planner to work in; THEREFORE, the County Commissioners agree to appropriate $1,500 dollars in 1958 and 1959 as their financial contribution towards securing a comprehensive plan for the Central Washington Area along with the contributions of the City of Washington, East Washington Borough and the,Townships of North Franklin, South Strabane and Canton, The County will also provide office space in its Redevelopment Building at 78 Nest Beau Street for a Resident Planner for the contracted period. The County Commissioners also name Beery McAmbley, who is the administrative assistant for the Washington County Redevelopment AgtIjority to be their representative for the next three years on the Central Washington Regional Planning Commission. Motion carried unanimously, Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Nr. Mazza, that the polling place in and for the First Precinct of Fourth Turd, Washington, Pennsylvania, be changed from Electric Sales, East Wheeling Street, Washington, Pa., to James Dalessanftv, 284 South Main Street, Washington.*, Pa., with 'rental set at $25.00. The reason for the change is more space for Election Board and Voters and centrally located. Motion carried unazdx msly. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be authorisel to advertise for bids for painting the Center Dome, the Statue of George Washington which is above the Center Dome, the four (fit) small domes and the two (2) statues on the front side of than Courthouse. Bids to be received by the county Controller in his office in the Courthouse, Washington, Pa., until 11;03 a.m., Daylight Savings Time, Friday, October 4. 1957, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the Washington County Courthouse. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned.
