Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Commissi
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the draft issued by the Common-
wealth ofPennsylvania, dated October 31, 1957, payable to Washington County in the sum of $856.0,
on application of the Civil Defense Agency be deposited in the General Fund to the credit of
Washington County and a check in like amount of $856.00 be drawn on the General Fund payable to
the Western Pennsylvania Firements Training Institute the said Institute being the proper agency
entitled to said funds,
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Resolution No. 439 dated April 11,
1957 be rescinded for the following reason; by request of the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau
being that the bidders, Geno and Lena Colpo, in error placed a bid on property situate in Smith
Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, described as Lot No. 37, in the Grandview Plan of
Lots and formerly assessed to W. H. Barrowc]iff.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane,seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Resolution No, 440 dated April 11,
1957 be rescinded for the following reason; by request of the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau
being that the bidders, Geno and Lena Colpo, in error placed a bid on property situate in Smith
Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, described as Lot No. 36, in the Grandview Plan of
Lots and formerly assessed to Joe Zerbina, Sr.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount
of $21.36 be made payable to First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Waynesburg, Pennsyl-
vania, due to a duplicate payment of the 1957 real estate tax. On July 19, 1957, Mr. and Mrs.
Gnegy paid the amount of $20.30 on property assessed in the name of Chester W. and. Barbara Ann
Gnegy, situate in the 8th Ward of Washington and ddscribed as 2 story frame house, garage and
Lot 4, On August 15, 1957, the First Federal savings and Loan Association of Waynesburg paid
the amount of $21.36 on said property, thus causing a duplicate payment on the 1957 real estate
tax. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount
of $21.36 payable to First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$6.08 be made payable to Charles and Theresa Kiefer, Box 185, Fredericktown, due to duplicate
payment of occupation tax for the following years 1954, 1955 and 1956. Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer have
been assessed with the occupation tax in the front of the assessment book with their real estate
assessment also in the back of the assessment book with the occupation listings thus causing a
duplicate assessment. For the years 1954, 1955 and 1956 Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer have paid their
occupation tames under both listings thus creating a duplicate payment of $6.08. Therefore,
the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $6.08 made
payable to Charles and Theresa Kiefer, Box 185, Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, East Bethlehem
Township, Washington County.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$1,28"be made payable to Joseph Cullari, due to -a duplicate payment of occupation tax for the
year of 1957. On July 12, 1957, Mr. Cullari paid his real estate tax which also included his
occupation tax on property assessed in Smith Township described as 4 room frame house, Lot -
Barbush Plan, in the amount of $11.51. On August 31, 1957, Mr. Cullari paid his occupation tax
in the amount of $1.28 thus a duplicate payment was created being that his occupation tax was
listed in the front of the assessment book also the back of the assessment book. Therefore, the
Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $1.28 made payable
to Joseph Cullari, Slovan, Pennsylvania.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$6.05 be made payable to Hobert and Margaret Stange, 626 Decker Street, Monongahela, Pennsylvani
due to a tax reducation on property situate in 2nd Ward of Monongahela described as 1 story 7
room brick house and Lot'2 - 140 x 75 McGregor Plan. On July 18, 1957, Mr. Stange, paid 1957
County taxes in the amount of $45.42 on above described property; tax adjustment no. 41.02,
reduced the above property assessment to $3,250 from $3,754 thus making the tax due $41.44 less
5% discount making the net $39.37 and a total refund due Robert and Margaret Stange $6.05. Thor
fore; the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $6,05
made payable to Robert and Margaret Stange, 626 Decker Street, Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$1.22 be made payable to Lawrence (Lorenzo) Spiotta, Box 45, Slovan, Pennsylvania, due to a
duplicate payment of occupation tax. On July 29, 1957, Mr. Spiotta paid his real estate tax
which also included his occupation tax on property assessed in Smith Township, described as 4
room frame house.. Lot 123 Potts Plan in the amount of $12.73. On August 1, 1957, Mr. Spiotta
paid his occupation tax which is listed in the back of the Tax Assessment Book in the amount of
1957
$1.22, thus causing a duplicate payment of his/occupation tax. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau
is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $1,22 made payable to Lawrence
(Lorenzo) Spiotta, Box 45, Slovan, Pennsylvania.
