Lotion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Agenes Cheroke, be appointed as a Clerk in the Tax Clam Bureau, this action to be retroactive to February 16, 195$. adjourned. T 1 Office of the County Comissioners Washington, Pa., March 5, 1958 Board of County Com dssioners in regular session, those present being Commi Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded ,by Mr. Mazza, that the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau is hereby authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 25, 1940, for the 1932, 1933, and 1934 County, School and Road Taxes, plus sale costs for the property assessed to John Witchoff, described as follows: 1932 Description -Lot, West Side Land CompaW; 1933 Description -Lot No. 101, West Side Land Company; 1934 Description -Lot No. 103, Nest Side Land CoapaW Plan, East Pike Run ship, Washington County, Pennsylvania. In as much as, an examination of the records show, that Lot No. 101 was deeded by John Witchoff to Andrew Witchoff in Jaxmary, 1924, by Deed Book, Volume 577, Page 198, therefore, the assessments to John Witchoff for the years 1932, 1933 and 1934 are duplicate assessments those of Andy Witchoff, the rightful owner. Andy Witchoff acquired Lot No. 103, in June, 1917.by deed as recorded in Deed Book, Volume 457, Page 600, therefore, the assessments to John Witchoff for the years 1932, 1933 and 1934 are duplicate assessments with those of Andy Witchoff, the rightful owner. The said sale is to be *oid and cancelled, and the Tax Claim Bureau, the Assess- meat Office and the Office of the Prothonotary are hereby directed to mark their records Motion carried iumnimoualy. Plan Blainsburg, Route 88 South Kinder Land, West Washington Avenue, East Blainsburg, also assessed as Shanty and 2 Lots 105-107, West Side Land Co. Plan; 1932-Shanty and Lot 107, Side Land Co., East Pike Brun Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. In as much as, an examination of the records shows that, Lot 107 was deeded by Smith to Nellie Polansky by deed recorded in Washington County on April 2, 1929, in Deed Book %1, Page 37, therefore, the assessments to Mike Smith for the years of 1929, 1932, 1933 and 1934 are duplicate assessments with those of Nellie Polansky, the rightful owner. In as much as, an examination of the records shows that, Lot No. 105 was conveyed to Andy Witchoff by Deed dated June 8, 1917 recorded in Washington County in Deed Book 457, Page 600, therefore, the assessments to Mike Smith for the years 1929, 1932, 1933 and 1934 are assessments with those of Andy Witchoff, the rightful owner. The said sales are to be void and cancelled; and the Tax Claim Bureau, the Assess - meat Office and the Office of the Prothonotary are hereby directed to mark their records aceor!w ingly. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount, of $15*76 be made payable to Stockton Frye, R. D. 2, Box 231, Monongahela, Pennsylvania, due to a duplicate payment of the 1957 County Aea1 Estate and Occupation Tax. On July 9, 1957, Mr. Frye the amount of $15.76 on property assessed in the name of Stockton Frye, situate in Carroll Township and described as 4 mom frame house, Lots 37-38, Frye Plan. On July 29, 1957s. Mr. Frye again paid this tax in the same amount on said property, thus causing a duplicate payment. The ore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $15.76 to Stockton Frye, R. D. 2 Box 231, Monongahela, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously.
