PETTI ,ICJ...{. ,J AZZA, COMMISSIONERS this being the lowest and only bid received. Motion carried unanimously with Mr. El.ish leaving the meeting and the following reeuaa.r business transacted. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivering of coal to the Courthouse and Jail for the 1958-1959 season, Bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office in the Courthouse, Washington, Pennsylvania, until 11:00 a.m., Daylight Saving Time, Wednesday, Septembe 24, 1958, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the Washington County Commissioners. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Board of County Commis- sioners setting as the Registration Commission of Washington County, authorize the Registration Office in the Courthouse, Washington, Pennsylvania, to remain open contimously from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., during the week of September 8th to 15th, 1958, in order to accommodate those persons wishing to register for the coming General Election. September 15, 1958, is the last day to register for said election. Motion carried. There being no further -business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. THE FOR MINUTE READ ARID APPROVED: Oct er 8, 958 1 4 ATTEST: t.� 1 CHIEF CLERK r 0 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., September 10, 1958 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Commissioner Pettit, Cummins, Mazza and County Solicitor Frank J. Docktor. Solicitor Docktor, stated that in reviewing the contract for the Appraisal Work to be done in Washington County, he finds that they do not conform with the specifications as adver- tised. Contract called for appraisal of properties after external view only and in his opinion an internal view of peroperties by the appraiser was legally necessary. Mr. Docktor requested that the awarding of said contract be postponed to enable Attorney Malcolm Hay of Pittsburgh who is representing the Western Pennsylvania Reasearah Associates, Inc., and himself to work out the details to conform with the specifications as advertised. Some of the details being the maps of the county's coal lands and the incomplete maps of various tonwships. Therefore, a motion was duly made and seconded that the awarding of the contract for the Appraisal Work to be done in Washington County be postponed until Friday, September 19, 1958, enabling Attorney Hay, representi- tine for,Western Pennsylvania Research Associates, Inc., and Solicitor Docktor to work out contra t terms to conform with the specifications as advertised. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Robert Salko, who resides at Clarksville, Pennsylvania, be appointed as Assessor of East Bethlehem Township, to fill the v
