Motion by Mr. Cummins, being that the Solicitors have a different opinion as to the Act then the Courts should decide as to the legality of the purchasing , g y pur ng of the jeep as per the original minute. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Commissioners appropri- ate $300*00 to help defray some of the expenses incurred in connection with the Veterans' Bay Celebration (Mori -Valley) held in Charleroi, Pennsylvania on November 11, 1958. Total amount of expenses incurred in this celebration: $4229,52. Motion carried unanimously, The following Proposals for the printing of the Annual Directory of Washin gton County Public Schools (1958-1959) were received. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Monongahelc Publishing Company, Main Street, Monongahela, Pennsylvania, be awarded the contract for the priming of the Annual Directory of the Washington County Public Schools 1958-1959, being the lowest proposal 'received. The County's share for the printing of said directories to be $495,00. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Americo F. Troiano of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, be appointed as a member of the Washington County Redevelopment Authority Board, replacing Dr. George S. Hart of California State Teachers College, who's term has expired, July 30, 1958. Mr. Troiano's appointment is retroactive to said date for a two (2) year term. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution be adopted to demolish building on Liberty Street in the Borough of California, Washington County, Pennsyl- vania. BE IT RESOLVED, that by reason of notice by J. L. Abercrombie, Secretary of the Borough of California, and a letter from Mrs. George Zober of California, Pennsylvania and by report of our appraisal agent, Mr. Andrew J. Barnickel, that the building on Liberty Street between Sixth and Seventh, situate in the Borough of California (formerly East Pike Run Township), Washington County, Pennsylvania, formerly assessed to Morris Crispen and now held by the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau, Trustee for the taxing districts, be demolished. According to the report by Mr. Barnickel, the said building is not tenable. The building is in such condition that it is beyond repair. It is a fire hazard and also a menace,to health and life. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution be adopted to exonerate penalty and interest on the re -purchasing of property assessed to John E. Kraeer (also assessed in the County Owned listing for the years of 1928 thru 1942, inclusive,,) Due to an error, the property is carried on the current assessment records. It was also involved in the Treasurers' Tax Sale of February 1, 1940 and listed as County owned. The owner is hereby purchaaw ing said property for the amount of liened taxes due, in order to clear his title. The resolutiou of the Midway School District and the Borough of Midway, exonerating the penalty and interest on same is on file in the Tax Claim Bureau. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. i-
