PETTI�t}}, AZZA, COMMISSIONERS MONONOANLLA PUWLI.NINO CO NO. 280-1 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., February 27, 1959 Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present being Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Cummins., seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Michael A. Boyle, of 1476 Barr Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, be employed to tax map and appraise coal lands situate in Wash- ington County, Work on the project to begin on March 2, 1959 and to be completed by February 29, 1960 for the total sum of $6,000.00 payable at the rate of $500.00 monthly beginning April 1, 1959; said sum of $6,000.00 to be in full payment of all work and services required including traveling expenses and clerical or stenographic work, providing a written contract is�entered into between the Board of Assessment and Revision of Taxes and Michael A. Boyle. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Boyle, for tax maping and appraising coal lands situate in Washington County. MAIZE this 2nd day of March, 1959, by and between the COUNFY cF WASHIIbiribN And TM BOAM after designated Party of the First Part, and MICHAEL A. BOUX, of 1476 Barr Avenull Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, hereinafter designated Party of the Second Part. WHEREAS Party of the First Part is engaged in establishing a permanent record system for tax assessment of real estate as authorized by "The Fourth to Eighth Class County Assessment Law" of 1943 P. L. 771 as amended and desires to employ a registered engineer to 'tax map and appraise coal lands situate in Washington County; and WEREAS Party of the Second Part is an engineer, duly registered under the laws of Pennsylvania, and is qualified by training and experience to map and appraise coal land. NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed as follows: 1. Party of the Second Part shall prepare a map of Washington County subdivided to show all municipalities and locate thereon all coal of the Pittsburgh or river vein owned by Corporations as shown by current coal maps which the Party of the Second Part shall secure from said Corporate owners. If maps are available to show coal acreage owned by any individuals or partnerships such acreage shall also be plotted on said map. Party of the Second Part shall separately evaluate all coal interests appearing on the current tax assessment dockets of Washington County on the basis of the market value thereof and ashall make whatever investigation may be necessary to determine the required factors under the laws of Pennsylvania, Mich are pertinent in valuing the several coal interests and to qualify himself to give expert testimony, in support of the values so established. In cases where a con- sideration of the distance of coal from a mine opening is proper and necessary to establish its market value, the acreage of each of such owners shun on the map shall be divided into souse spaced at one mile intervals from the appropriate mine opening. The market value of coal situate within each zone shall be determined and the coal acreage situate within each of said zones shall be calculated and the value and acreage noted on the map. There a zoned coal acreage is situate in more than one municipality the acreage in each zone within each municipality shall also be indicated on the map. 3. A. -list of all owners of coal for each municipal subdivision of 'Washington County shall be prepared and arranged alphabetically by Party of the Second Part, showing the name of each owner, the total acreage owned, the market value thereof, the number of acres situate within specified zones when appropriate and the value of coal in each zone, and the factors and data reasonably required to support the values established in accordance with the laws of Pennsylvania. In the preparation of said lists Party of the Second Part can assume that the names of coal owner&. and the acreage -owned as shown on the current.tax assessment records are correct. 4. Party of Second Part shall begin work on said project upon the execution of this agreement and shall complete the same not later than February 29, 1960, 5, Party of the First Part shall pay Party of the Second Part the total sum of $6,000*60 payable at the rate of $500.00 monthly beginning April 1, 1959; said sun of $6,000*00 to be in full payment of all work and services required by this agreement including traveling wTenases and clerical or stenograii.c work, IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto set their hands and seals.
