Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to purchase one (1) rotary mower, one (1) power take off and the necessary accessories for the above mentioned equipment from A. J. PARSON, Washington, Pennsylvania, this being the lowest proposal as follows: Rotary Mower $489.5o Power Take Off $331.30 Said equipment for use at the Washington County Airport. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for the preparation of the hangar site and footers at the Washington County Airport, Mr, Harry B, Crumrine, County Engineer, will furnish advertisement. Motion carried unanimously, Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that upon the advise of the County Con- troller, Peter Elish, being that the Liquid Fuels Tax Fund is nearly depleted, he be given the authorization to prepare the necessary voucher to transfer from the General Fund to the Liquid Fuels Tax Fund 25,000.00, which will be repaid to said General Fund upon receipt of the June appropriation, Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the County Controller, Peter Elish, is hereby authorized to transfer from the General Fund to the General Fund Sinking Fund No. 1, the amount as set up in the budget forihe year of 1959, as follows: Monies to be transfered in the amount of $67,763,00 from the General Fund to the General Find Sinking Fund No, 1. Of this amount $60,000.00 is for bonds and $7,763.00 is for coupons. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following employees have been appointed to the Bridge Crew as temporary and seasonal workers, effective date appearing opposite their name. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Frank Zoretic, be appointed as a temporary employee of the Bridge Crew, this action to be retroactive to April 22, 1959. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Colleen Gatalicia, employee of the Tax Assessment Office, be deleted from the County Payroll, this action to be effective May 1, 1959. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that May 3rd to May loth be proclaimed as Soil Stewardship Week and the following resolution be adopted: SOIL STEWARDSHIP ffiESOLUPION The twentieth centry has been called the "Age of Change" -- changes largely due to a dynamic economy based upon a productive agriculture industry and energetic people. We must 0 recognize the importance of a productive agriculture here in Washington County and in the nation.
