THE F0 NG MINUTE READ AND APIR OVER: June ,` 1 59 ATTEST: ��?R IEF CLERK Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa.., June 1, 1959 Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present being Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Piazza. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Tax Claim Bureau, be authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 24, 1940, for the 1933 and 1934 County, School and Road Taxes, plus sale costs, for the property assessed to George A. Hanna and described as Vacant Lot No. 20, Arthur Plan, situate in Chartiers Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; in as much as, George A. Hanna does not have a good and marketable title to the above described property, as per title search. Mr. Hanna has been assessed with the said property from 1933 through 1940 the date of transfer to Washington County. Therefore, the tax sale should be *old and cancelled. The Tax Claim Bureau, the Assessment Office and the Office of the Prothonotary are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr, Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Tax Claim Bureau., be authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 22, 1940, for the 1931, 1932, 1933, and 1934-County, School, and Road Taxes, plus sale costs for the property assessed to 0. S. Simpson and described as follows: Lots No. 180-152-229 Fairgrounds Plan (1934 description - In addition to above description Vacant Lot No. 151 Ohio Street) (1931 description - Lots No. 25-26), situate in Canton township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; in as much as, 0. S. Simpson does not have a good and marketable title to the same, subject to the aforesaid except as follows: --No record title in 0. S. Simpson to the lots number above. The said 0. S. Simpson did own Lot No. 180 by virtue of convey- ance from Charles Lackovi.ch et ux.; dated April 2, 1921, recorded in D.B. 519, page 421. However, 0. S. Simpson et ux., conveyed said Lot No. 180 to Dominick Bonus and Mary Bonus, his wife, by deed dated May 1, 1923, recorded in D.B. 507, page 442. The present owners of said Lot 180 are Margaret Antol, Mary Antol and Peter Paul Antol, see D.B. 643, Page 383, D.B. 686, Page 624, and D.B. 772, Page 109, As previously indicated the records do not indicate that O.S. Simpson ever did own the remainder of the lots numbered above. Silvio Corso and Anna Corso, his wife, are the present owners of Lot No. 151., see D.B. 679, page 21, Steve Mikus is the present owner of Lot No. 229, see D.B. 538, Page 187, Angelo Bof and Margaret Bof, his wife, are the present owners of Lot No. 152, see D.B. 622, Page 600. Valencia Yasinsky is the present owner of Lot No. 26, see D.B. 468, Page 288. The O'Brien Steel Co. is the present owner of Lot No. 25, see D.B. 588, page 525. (According to title search). Therefore, the tax sale should be void and cancelled. The Tax Claim Bureau, the Assessment Office and the Office of the Prothonotary are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly. PETTI , C COMMISSIONERS MONOHOANCLA PUBLISHING CO Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Tax Claim Bureau, be authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 24, 1940, for the 1931 School and Road Taxes and 1932, 1933 and 1934 County, School and Road Taxes, plus sale costs, for the property assessed to James McBurney and described as follows: Lots Nos. 21 and 22 in the Plan of Lots laid out by David and Ida Arthur at Rich Hill Station, Chartiers Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. (1931 descrip- tion Lot No. 21, David Arthur Plan) (1934 description Lot No. 22, David Arthur Plan.) In as much as, James McBurney does not have a good and marketable title to the same. The deed records show that David C. Arthur conveyed these lots to Louis Marra and Caterina Marra, his wife, by deed dated August 19, 1919, recorded in Deed Book Vol. 480, Page 350. Louis Marra died September 1, 1929, leaving'CAterina Marra sole owner and she, in turn, conveyed the lots in question to John A. Flack, by deed dated October 31, 1929, recorded in Deed Book 564, page 576. John A. Flack conveyed Lot No. 21 to Joseph R. Marra by deed of January 28, 1930, recorded in Deed Book 583, page 131, James McBurney was assessed with Lot No. 22 from 1932 through 1940, when said lot was transferred to Washington County. (According to title search.) Therefore, the Tax Sale should be void and cancelled. The Tax Claim Bureau, the Assessment Office and the Office of the Prothon- otary are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution in regard to the sale of property for unpaid taxes by the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau be adopted: RESOLUTION NO. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Change Order No. 2 to Contract No. 2, Washington County Airport, be approved in the total cost decrease of $262.50. Motion carried unanimously.
