THE FOIJEqING MINUTE READ ARID APPROVED: Sept er 4 195 .ATTE ���� Gl�ef Clerk N0. 31 /f Office of the County Commissioners -Washington, Pa., July 28, 1959 Board of County Commissioners in special session those present being Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following resolution requesting aid for the unemployed in Washington County Area in the form of surplus food be adopted: R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the County,Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania, that unemployment in the County Apas has increased to alarming proportions due in part to the current steel strike, and WHEREAS., The goverment offers surplus food to distressed areas to be distributed under the supervision of the County Commissioners, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Washington County Commissioners that: 1. The proper authorities be immediately urged to increase the allotment of surplus food to Washington County, and 2. That new locations and facilities be made available for the immediate distribution thereof, to each applicant in need, as determined by State Eligibility Standards. Motion carried unanimously.
