Washington, Pa., July 29, 1959
Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present being: Commissioners
Pettit and Cummins.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be authorized
to advertise for the printing and delivering to the Election Department of the County Commissioners
the necessary ballots and election supplies required for the conduct of the Municipal General
Election to be held Tuesday, November 3, 1959, and the delivering of ballot boxes with election
supplies to the,Judges of Election for the one hundred eighty-eight (188) precincts. Bids to be
received by the County Controller, in his Office in the Courthouse, Washington, Pennsylvania, until
11;00.a.m., Daylight Savings Time, Friday, August 3-4, 1959, and opened immediately thereafter in
the Office of the County Commissioners.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following polling place be
changed gs follows, due to the fact, that a more convenient and centrally located place is needed.
WASHINGTON 7th WARD - lrth PRECINCT
From: St. Hilary's Church Basement
To: Henry Yankovitch Residence, 1050 Michigan Ave.
Rental: Same
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following polling place be
changed as follows, due to the fact, that a more convenient and centrally located place is needed.
SOUTH STRABANE 2nd PRECINCT
From: Shannon Motor Co., Route 19
To: Hudak's Service State, Manifold, Pa.
Rental: From $15.00 to $25.00 (Increase)
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following polling place be
changed as follows, due to the fact, that a more convenient and centrally located place is needed.
WASHINGTON 8th WARD - 1st PRECINCT
From: Thomas Milkollen Resident
To: Garage of H. M. Mesta, 50 Canton Street
Rental: $10.00 to $25.00 (Increase)
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following polling place be
changed as follows, due to the fact, that a more convenient and centrally located place is needed.
WASHINGTON 6th WARD - 2nd PRECINCT
From: Building of E. T. Hall
To: Basement of Wally Jefferson, 25 Shannon Avenue
Rental: $15.00 to $25.00 (Increase)
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Oliver N. Hormell, be.appointed

as an Assistant Solicitor, in the Tax Claim Bureau, this action to be effective August 1, 1959.
