Motion by Mr. Mazza,•secgnded by Mr. Cummins, that the contract for the printing of 300 Bonds for the $300,000.00 1959 Bored Issue for the Tax Assessment Office permanent records system, be awarded to SECURITY-COLUMBIAN BANKNOTE COMPANr of Fifty -Fifth and Sanson Streets, Philadelphia 39, Pennsylvania, in the total amount of $181.50, this being the lowest responsible bid recafted. Motion carried unanimously, with Mr. Elish leaving the meeting. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the following resolution be adopted as read, on the selling of a parcel of ground to the Washington Industrial Development Corporatia" RESOLUTION RESOLVED, that the County Commissioners of Washington County, acting in the interest of the Institution District, sell to the Washington Industrial Development Porporation the parcel of ground hereinafter described for the sun of Five Hundred and No/3.00 3500,00) Dollars, said parcel of land to be used as a right of Way for ingress and egress to the Washington Industrial Development Corporation land containing 25.6360 acres lying immediately South of the right of Way of the Chartiers Valley Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad and that the County Commissioners request approval of the Court of Quarter Sessions of the sale of said land to said Corporation for said purposes. Roll call vote taken. Mr. Pettit voting Yes, Mr. Cummins voting Yes and Mr. Mazza voting Yes. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at'this time, the meeting adjourned. D. 1, Avella, Pennsylvania, because of a duplicate payment of the 1959 County Tax, made on property situate in Blaine Township, Washington County, , Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of D. W. and M. NeCuen and described as: 8 room frame house- -stable, 65 acres surface as recorded. in DB 976-202 E. Washington Oil Co. On August 1, 1959, S. M. Ford, the former owner, paid taxes on the above described property in the amount of $24.74 on same date L. D. McCuen also paid taxes in the amount of 24-71, for the present owner; D. W. midj M. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $38.76, payable to Bloom, Bloom & Yard, Washington, Pennsylvania, Motion carried unanimously. Deems and described as: Lot 96 60x1.80, 2 story 5 room frame house, garage, sheds. 0n July 29, 1959, the 1959 County Tax was paid in the amount of $+11.50 on the above described property, Anna E. Deems again paid the 1959 County Tau on August 1, 1959 on said describe property in the amount of $11.50, thus causing a duplicate payment. Therefore, the Tax Claim bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $11-50, payable to Anna E. Deems, Beallsville, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Hoffmman, R, D, 21 Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, because of an error in payment of the 1958 Occupation Tax, On July 31, 1958, James and Margaret Hoffman, paid taxes on property listed in the name of Lawrence and Anna Hoffman; who are residents of Allegheny County.$ property described as: 5 room house, unfinished - garage and Lot 16, adjoin* ing Snodgrass and occupation listed as mechanic 100, housekeeper 100. Residents of Allegheny County are not subject to Occupation Tax in Washington County, On August 1, 1959, James and Margaret Hoffman paid $2.44 for their 1958 Occupation Tax Antt:'dil tov_6vod�:thiis;,errdrp thus causing a refund in said amount. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $2,44, payable to James 4 Margaret Hoffman, R. D. 2, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Arrigo, Grandview Way Charleroi, Pennsylvania, due to an over payment on 1959 County Tau, On June 29, 1959, the amount of $35.13 was paid on property situate in Speers Brough, Washington County, Pennsylvania, described as: 2 story frame house, Lots, 504-50,1,*.O• recorded in DB ?76-496 Mapleview Plan, assessed in the name of Thomas S, & August F, Arrigo, At a later date, this tax was reduced $1,22 by tax adjustment No. 1134 to read $33.91 instead of $35.13, thus causing an over payment in the amount of $1.22. Therefore, the Tax Calim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $1,220 payable to Thomas S, Arrigo, Grandview Way, Charleroi,, Pennsylvania, Motion carried unanimously, Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $2.44 be made payable to Pascualina DeRosa, Box 478, Washington, Pennsylvania, due to a duplicate payment of 1959 Occupation Tax. Carroll, Occupation listed as; Laborer 100, Housekeeper 100. On July 30, 1959 the Occupation tax was duplicated When Pascualina DeRosa paid $2,44 on the 1959 Occupation Tax Notice received for the 8th Ward of Washington, (this being a double assessment of occupation), thus causing a duplicate pay - went. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $2.44, payable to Pascualina DeRosa, Box 478$ Washington$ Pennsylvania, Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins,, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $3.02 be made payable to Tony and Frank Mancini, R. D. 1$ Scenery Hill., Pennsylvania, due to an error in assessment. On July 3, 19591, the amount of $11.50, for 1959 County Tax, was paid on property situate in the Borough of Deematon, Washington County, Pennsylvania,, assessed in the name of Tony and Frank Mancini, and described as: 5 room house,, 2 room house, Lot 2.10 acres surface DB 971-415 Tony Ross. The 2 room house was transferred to J. & 0. Ross, but had not been deleted from the assessment record of Tony and Frank Mancini.$ thus making an error of $3.02 on the 1959 Tax Notice of Tony and Frank Mancini, and a refund due in said amount, Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $3.02s Pule to Tony and Frank Mancini, R. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $71.92, be made payable to Lois Tannehill, 207 West Pike Street, Houston, Pennsylvania, be- cause of a duplicate payment on 1958 County Real Estate Tax and Personal Property Tax, On July 10, 1958, the amount of 43.64 was paid on property situate in the &Trough of Houston, Washington County, Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of newton and M. Lois Tannehill, and described as Part Lots 8 and 9, Hodgson Plan, Arnold Avenue, D.B. 841-245 Adj. C. Reed Street, also the amount of $56,94 was paid on the following described property; Brick house -garage- Lot 207 West. Pike Street, Ada. J. Hodgson, on the same date, the amount of $8.97 was paid for 1958 Personal Property Tax. On August 5, 19580 the amounts of $3.83, $58.65 and $9.h4, were paid respectively on the above described properties, thus causing duplicate payment on the 1958 County Tax and 1958 Personal Property Tax in the total amount of $71,92. Therefore., the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $62.48 for duplicate payment of 1948 County Tax, made payable to Lois Tannehill.. 207 West Pike Street, Houston, Pennsylvania, The Personal Property Department of the Tfx Assessment Office is hereby authorized to prepare the said refund voucher in the amount of $9.44 for the duplicate payment of the 1958 Personal. Property Tax, made payable to Lois Tannehill, 207 West Pike Street, Houston, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins$ seconded by Mr, Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $15.05 be made payable to Clifford and Mary'Campbell, Midway,, Pennsylvania, because payment was made in error. On March 16, 1959, Clifford Campbell paid $15.05 for 1958 County Tax on property situate in Midway Borough, Washington County, Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of 384 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSfONE S WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. This payment was made in error as Mr. Campbell meant to pay taxes on property assessed in the Township of Robinson, As a result, of not paying taxes on this proper- ty situate in Robinson Township It was liendd.'in the Tax Claim Bureau. Mr. Campbell discover- ed his error upon receipt of a registered letter from the Tax Claim Bureau. Payment was then made on the correct property and the property in Midway is now liened in the Tax Claim Bureau. Therefore, the Tau Claim Bureau is hereby authorized to prepare a refund voucher in the amount of $15.05 made payable to Clifford and Mary Campbell, Midway, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $2.44 be made payable to Mrs. Anna Nemeth, 236 Linn Avenue, Washington,. Pennsylvania, due t4 incorrect assessment of Occupation'Tax. The assessment records show occupation tax listed for Mr. John Nemeth for the years of 1957 and 1958 which Mrs. Anna Nemeth paid in the total amount of $2:44, This occupation tax was picked up in error, Mr. Nemeth dies in the year of 1945. Receipts are on file in the Assessment Office for said payrhent. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $2.44, payable to Mrs: Anna Nemeth, 236 Linn Avenue, Washington, Pennsylvania, Motion carried unanimously, Motion -by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr: Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount'of $2.50 be made payable to John Mgrdichan, R. D. 3, Washington, Pennsylvania, because of a duplicate assessment of 1957 and 1958 occupation tax. John A, Mordichan-is assessed with occupation tax on property in Mt. Pleasant Township for the years 1957 and 1958.' Mr. Mordichan lives in Canton Township where he owns property assessed in his name, but spelled Mgrdichan, he is also assessed with occupation tax in Canton Township, which -has resulted in a duplicate payment of occupation tax for the years 1957 and 1958 due to this duplicate assessment of occupation tax. Receipts are`on file in the Tax Assessment Office showing Mr, Mgrdichan making payment of $1.22 on June 26, 1957 and on August 19, 1958 making payment of $1,28; on same dates Mr. Mordichan paid taxes on property situate in Mt; Pleasant Township which also in - eluded -occupation tax, thus causing duplicate payment in the total amount of $2.50. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is hereby authorized to preppre siad refund voucher in the amount of $2.50, payable to John Mgrdichan, R. D. 3, Washington, Pennsylvania. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $19,28 be made payable to Joseph and Elizabeth Barati, West Burceton Road, Pittsburgh 36, Pennsylvania, due to the re -assessment of property situate in the 31d Ward of Washington. In 1957, a house assessed at $1,375 with a lot assessed to Joseph and Elizabeth Barati was torn down by not removed from the Tax Assessment records. On May 4, 1959, 1958 County Tax was paid in the amount of $31.91 on the above described property, (Receipt -on file in the Assessment Office), the taxes on the house alone amounted to $19.28, the amount to be refunded. Therefore, the Tau Assessment Office is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $19,28, payable to Joseph and Elizabeth Barati, West Burceton Road, Pittsburgh 36, Pennsylvania. 1 1 r Motion carried unanimously.
