Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that all bids be tabled until the Chief
Engineer has had time to study the anaylsis.

Pettit and Cummins.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Della Davis, be appointed as a
Clerk in the Tax Assessment Office; this action to be retroactive to September 16, 1959•
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Anthony Scatena, be appointed as
a temporary deed seacher for the Tax Assessment Office; this action to be retroactive to Septembar

Motion by Mr. Cummins.. seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Richard J. Douglas, be appointed
as a temporary draftsman in the Tax Assessment Office; this action to be retroactive to September
16, 1959.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Melvin A. Kaminski, be appointed
as a temporary draftsman in the Tax Assessment Office; this action to be retroactive to September
16, 1959.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Hr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$8.28 be made payable to Joseph & Margaret Stajdukar, Box 29, Muse, Pennsylvania; reason for
refund being that tax ( Personal Property) was paid 'on incorrect balance of $995.00, correct

amount of balance due was only $270.00 tax due $2.76. On July 29, 1957 and on June 25, 1958

the amount of $3.79 was again paid on the incorrect balance of $995.00 instead of the correct
balance of $270.00 due on mortgage held by Joseph and Margaret Stajdukar for the years 1956s 1957
and 1958, Therefore, the Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office, is hereby
authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $8.28 made payable to Joseph and Margaret
Stajdukar for this over payment of tax on personal property which was inadvertently returned for
said years. -

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$32.93 be made payable to the Mellon National Bank and Trust Company, Co -Trustee under the will
of Jess P. Miller, Mellon Square, Pittsburgh 30, Pennsylvania. On August 1, 1959, the Mellon
National Bank and Trust Company paid Personal Property Tax on 159 shares of Common Stock of the
Corn Products Company, this stock was declared exempt for the year 1459. The Mellon National
Bank filed only a valuation on the Sundry List for the Jess P. Miller, Dec'd. for Edith, a photo-
stat copy of the security holdings on which the Corn Products Company Common Stock was included
has been received by the Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office. Therefore,
the Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office, is hereby authorized to prepare
said refund voucher in the amount of $32.93, made payable to the Mellon National Bank and Trust
Compe y for the over payment of personal property tax.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$48.45, be made payable to Arthur R. Fawcett, Jr., R. D. 1, Venetia, Pennsylvania, because of an
error in assessment causing an incorrect payment. On July 22, 1959s the amount of $48.45 was
paid for 1959 County Tag by Mr. Fawcett on property situate in Peter Township, Washington County,
Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of Arthur R. Jr., and Elizabeth Fawcett and described asx
5,581 Acres Surface, DB 1026-489 Florjancic. This assessment was corrected by tax adjustment No.
1210 to read as follows: 7 room frame -brick house, small barn, 5.581 acres surface, DB 1026-489
Florjancic and on August 1, 1959 the amount of $29.37 was paid on said assessment, thus making a
refund in the amount of $48.45 due. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is hereby authorized to
prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $48.45, payable to Arthur R. Fawcett, Jr., R. D. 1,
Venetia, Pennsylvania.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a ilefund voucher in the amount
of $174.41, be made payable to Abbott Morgage Company, 725 Frick Building, Pittsburgh 19, Penn -
Sylvania, because of an error in payment. On August 1, 1959, Mr. Natali paid tax in the amount
of $174.41 for 1959 County Tax on properties situate in the 3rd Ward of the City, of Monongahela,
Washington County, Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of Marino and Grace Natali, 709 Sampson
Street, Monongahela, Pennsylvania and described as follows: (a) block road stand, Dot 4 Southside
Dry Run Road -Chess Street (b) Brick Apartment, Lot 87 - General Plan DB 750-30 Williamsport.
On July 27, 1959s however, the Abbott Mortgage Company in error paid taxes on the same above
described properties thus making a refund due them in the amount of $174.41, therefore, the Tax
Assessment Office, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $174.41,
payable to Abbott Mortgage Company, 725 Frick Building, Pittsburgh 19, Pennsylvania.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$42.10, be made payable to Cesare Falconi, R. D. 1, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, because or re-
assessment of property causing an over payment of 1959 County Tax. On July 30, 1959, the amount
of $102,50 was paid for 1959 County Tax by Mr. Falconi on property situate in Cecil Townships
Washington County, Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of Cesare Falconi and described as 94
acres surface, 6 room stone house, garage, Muse Mine. At a later date,by tax adjus6ment no. 4338,
this assessment was teduced, making a refund due of $42.10, new assessment to read as follows
26.3698 acres surface, 6 room stone house -garage, Muse Mine. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office,
is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $42,10, made payable to
Cesare Falconi, R. D. 1, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mx. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$2.442 be made payable to Joseph M. Romano, Box 52, R. D. 5s Washington, Pennsylvania, because
of a duplicate payment of 1959 County Tax. On July 2, 1959s Mr. paid 1959 County Tax on
property situate in Canton Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of
Joseph M. and Sally M. Romano, described as Lot 32 DB 974-81 Morrison Heights, total amount of
tax paid being $1.22, this tax was duplicated on August 1, 1959; a new house (lstory brick house
garage) was added by tax adjustment no. 1040 and on July 27, 1959-tax for the third time was paid
on lot no. 32. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund
voucher in the amount of $2.4 , made payable to Joseph M. Romano, Box 52, R. D. 5, Washington,
Pennsylvania.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mrs Pettit,- that a refund voucher in the amount.
of $1.22, be made payable to Michael Knish, Box 52 Bs R. D. 5, Washington, Pennsylvania, because
of a duplicate payment of 1959 County Tax. On July 3, 1959s Mr. Knish paid 1959 County Tax on
property situate in Canton Township, Washington County, Pennsylvaaa, assessed in the name of
Michael, Rose and William Knish and described as Lot 36 DB 971-262 Morrison Plan 2, total amount
of tax paid being $1.22, this tax was duplicated on July 27, 1959, when a new house (1 story
brick house -garage) was added by tax adjustment no. 1038 and tax on said,lot was again paid in
the amount of $1.22. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office, is hereby authorized to prepare said
refund voucher in the amount of $1.223, made payable to Michael Knish, Box 52 B, R. D. 5, Washington,
Pennsylvania.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$32.711, be made payable to Charles A. and W. Pauline Spangler, 1601 W. Chestnut Street, Washingtonl,
Pennsylvania, ru because property has been taken over by the state as part of the th-way. 0n
July 20, 1959s Mr. Spangler paid 1959 County Tax on property situate in Canton Township, Washington
County, Pennsylvania, assessed in the name of Charles A. and W. Pauline Spangler and described as:
5 room frslme house -garage, Lot 28 Ellwood Park Plan. At a later date,_however, this property was
taken over by the state as part of the thru-way, thus making a refund due to $32.71. Therefore,
The Tax Assessment Office, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of
$32.71, made payable to Charles A. and W. Pauline Spangler, 1601 West Chestnut Street, Washington,
Pennsylvania.
