Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Fettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of $2.44 be made payable to Steve Shimrock, Box 39, Mariannai Pennsylvania, due to duplicate payment of 1958,and 1959 Occupation Tax. Mr. Shimrock was charged with occupation tax on his real estate listing also in the West Bethlehem Occupation listing. Op, July 15, 1958, Mr. Shimrock paid his occupation tax in the amount of $1,22 and also paid his occupation tax when paying his 1958 (real estate) County Tax, thus causing a duplicate payment for the year of 1958 in the amount of $1.22. On July 21, 1959, Mr. Shimrock paid his occupation tax in the amount of $1,22 and also paid his occupation tax when paying his 1959 (real estate) County Tax, thus causing a duplicate payment - for the year of 1959 in the amount of $1.22. Therefore, The Tax Assessment Office, upon proper certification of duplicate payment received from the County Treasurer's Office and approval of the County Controller, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of 2.44, payable to Steve Shimrock, Box 39, Marianna, Pennsylvania. Moti©n carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount of 4,61 be made payable to Mary Regula, Charleroi, Pennsylvania, due to an incorrect assessment. Since the year of 1954 to the present year of 1959s the tax assessment records have been carrying the name of Charles J, Begula, listed as a merchant, in the Borough of Charleroi, Mr. Regula has been deceased since the year of 1954. Taxes have been paid on said.assessment for the years of 1957, 1958 and 1959, which is incorrect, therefore, a refund is due Mary Regula, his wife, in the amount of $4,61. The Tax Assessment Offices, upon proper certification from their office and approval of the County Controller, is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of 4.61, payable to Mary Regula, Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following release of liens in connection with the coal mine fire burning in Carroll Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be approved, U. S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Mines 4800 Forbes Street Pittsburgh 13, Pa. — We hereby release the Goverment of the United States from any claims submitted, paid or upaid, and for any further claim or claims in connection with Contract Ito. 14-09-050-1669, to control the coal mine fire burning in the worked -out and abandoned working* of the Pittsburgh coal bed underlying a certain area of land in Carroll Township, Wash p t s ennsylvania
