LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS N0. 36 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., Jvne la., 1952 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Thomas Albert Rankin be appointed as an Engineer in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retroactive to May 16, 1952. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. )Mazza, that William C. Lane be appointed as a Chain Man in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retroactive to June 2, 1952. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. piazza, that John C. Pettit be appointed as a Chain Man in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being effective June 9, 1952. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Betty Jane Howeroft be appointed as a Clerk in the Tax Claim Bureau, this action being retroactive to June 2, 1952. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes be authorized to prepare voucher for refund in favor of Hubert W. and Mary Allen, R. D. #1, Monongahela, Pa.., in Carroll Township, in the amount of $2.71 covering 1951 Comity Tax paid under date of August 1, 1951 on real estate assessed at $300 and described as n7.86 acres of surface, Fisher Hej.ghtsn, receipt for which is attached. This property is,a duplication with an assessment in the name of Hubert W. Allen and described as n7.86 acres of sur- face adj. Eldora Plan #ln which was added to the records by adjustment #2871. on Jane 29, 1950 from J. A ddison Spragg by Deed Book 763 Page 551 and being part of a large tract of surface con- veyed to Blur. Spragg from the Pittsburgh Consolidation Coal Company. The assessment on which this refund is asked was transferred in error from the wrong piece of surface. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $33.55 paid on July 18, 19513, be made payable to E. L. & Mae B. Gibbons, R. D. #2, Washington, Pa., on property situated in South Strabane Township. This refund being made, due to the fact, that on June 26, 1951, the same amount of $13.55 was paid for the 1951 County Taxes. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare the said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. piazza, that Francis E. Pettit, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners be given $300.00 for expenses to attend the National Convention for Com- missioners to be held at San Aktonio, Texas for the week of June 16, 1952. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting 0 7 adjourned.
