Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and bane.
Motion by Mr. Larne, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Philip M. Beltz be employed as a
Typist in the Tax Claim Bureau; this action being effective June 16, 1952.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned,

Board of County Commissioners and the County Controller met in special session for
the purpose of opening bids for the printing and delivering to the Office of the County Com-
missioners the necessary ballots and election supplies required for the conduct of the 1952
General Election. Those present at the meeting were Commissioners Lane, Mazza and Controller
Roule,
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were opene3
and read:
Gentlemen:
In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
for printing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary ballots for
the conduct of the General Election to be held Tuesday, November 4, 1952, having examined the
attached }specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to furnish said ballots in
accordance therewith at the prices set forth:
Approximately 100,000 regular white official ballots:
Price per thousand for ballots furnished....... ..............................$ 38.50
Approximately 20,000 pink official specimen ballots for election districts. -
Price per thousand for specimen ballots 4 19w50
Approximately 1,200 regular white official military ballots, and as per
specifications as hereinafter set forth:

Nine single sets of specimen ballots as set forth in attached specifications:

For printing, binding and delivering any re -rum of a ballot of any election
district because of error on the part of arq county employee:
Minimum charge per district for rerun of 100 ballots or less . . ... . ....... . ........$ 8.25
Charge per 100 re run ballots for same district in addition to minimum charge ...... $ 3.75
A certified check in the amount of $500.00 is enclosed herewith.

Gentlemen:
In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
for the furnishing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners supplies to include
computing books, one hundred seventy-five military return sheets, the required quantity of military
envelopes and instruction sheets (the quantity to be determined by size of election district),
tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, voter's certificates, Election
Officers' Manuals, etc., required for use of the election officers at the General Election to be
held November 4, 1952, having examined the attached specifications and understanding the same, I
(or We) propose to furnish these supplies in accordance therewith, for the sum of
$1606.50
A certified deck in the amount of $100.00 is enclosed herewith.

Precincts of Washington County is $495.00 (Four Hundred Ninety -Five Dollars).

Lotion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that the MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY,
Monongahela, Pa., and the WART) PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Pa., be awarded the contract for fur-
nishing ballots for the 1952 General Election for the prices as set forth in,their joint bid.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that the WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON eeXPANY,
P. 0. Box 6759, Pittsburgh 12, Pa., be awarded the contract for the furnishing of Election
Supplies for the 1952 General Election for the sum of $1606.50 (One Thousand Six Hundred Six Dollars
and Fifty Cents.)
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that Thes. M. Bediilibn be awarded the
contract for delivering of ballot boxes and election supplies to the 188 Election Precincts in the
County for the sum of $495.00 (Four Hundred Ninety -Five Dollars.)
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that the following Polling Places be
designated as follows; petition for said change having been duly presented to the Board prior to
ten days before the Election and notices of the contemplated change posted as required by law:
Canonsburg Borough, lst Ward, 2nd Precinct
From: Russian Church Parsonage
To: Auditorium of Sacred Heart Church
Rental: Same - $25.00
Washington City, 6th Ward, 3rd Precinct
From: Storeroom of J. R. Paul
To: Mathias Garage, Brady Avenue
Rental: Same - $15.00
