Board of County Commissioners met in special session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and Lane.
Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lane, that the Recorder of Deeds be advanced
$100.00 for his Contingent Fund for recording of right -away plans of the Pennsylvania State High -
way Department.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Roye Leckemby be appointed
Assessor in Speers Borough, filling the vacancy existing.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount
of $23.47 paid on June 20, 1952, be made payable to J. R. Irwin Knox, on property situated on
National Pike, Canton Township. This refund being made, due to the fact, that on June 19, 1952,
the same amount of $23.47 was paid for the 1952 County Tax by Am. E. Ashbrook and John E. Ash -
brook. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of
this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
16tion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount
of $8.36 paid on June 4, 1952, be made payable to John D. Garvin, Et al., Jenkins Arcade, Pitts-
burgh, Pa., on property situated in Morris Township. This refund being made, due to the fact,
that on July 2, 1952 the amount of $5.42 was paid for the 1952 County Tax bg John D. Garvin,
Et al., which is the correct amount. Therefore, the Tag Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare
I the said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
The following action was taken with the Board of Commissioners sitting as the
Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes Commission.
Motion duly made and seconded that the 1952 Assessment on the "A" Plate to Jessop
Steel Company in Canton Township be corrected from:
Plant and Building
22.03 acres land
To:
Plant and Building
22.03 acres land
A reduction of $108,250.00
Motion carried.
