Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolutions in regard to sale of properties for unpaid taxes by the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau, be adopted: RESOLUTION NO. NAME OF PURCHASER DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY 231 Louis Horwath and 1 Lot in the West Side Land Company Theresa Horwath Plan, situate in East Pike Run Township, Washington County, formerly owned by Joe Mustaylin (Mostoveyan). FOR AMOUNT SOLD $100.00 232 Vincent Yukevich 2 Lots, Avella-Cross Creek Road, situate in Cross Creek Township, Washington County, formerly owned by Latina Kuhn. $190.00 233 Harry J. Sirockman & Vacant Lot #67, Monongahela Plan, situate Helen E. Sirockmanq his wife in the Township of Carroll, Washington County formerly owned by Raphael Pantalone. $100.00 234 Harry J. Sirockman & Vacant Lot #66, Monongahela Plan, situate Helen E. Sirockman, his wife in Carroll Township, Washington County, formerly owned by Angelo Pantalone. 235 Lewis D. Nichols & Ida R. Lot #24 Garden City Plan, situate in Canton Township, Washington County, formerly owned by Bessie Nickerson. $100.00 $100.00 There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: Septembe , 195 ATTEST &- Chief Clerk NO. 54 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 22, 1952 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized and empowered to accept payment at face of 19492 1950 and 1951 County Taxes inclusive, levied and assessed in the Borough of Canonsburg, First Ward, in the name of School District mf Canons- burg. This action is taken in concurrence with similar action taken by the Borough of Canonsburg. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Treasurer be and is hereby directed to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sales of June 18, 1918 and 1920 for the 1915, 1916 and 1917 County, School and Township Taxes, plus sale costs, for the property assessed to John F. Gray and described as Lots 124-125-224-225, Eldora Addition #1, situate in Carroll Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, inasmuch the assessments to John F. Gray were incorrect as he was not the owner for the said years. The record owners being Wanner Land Company, Inc. from 1900 to 1912, Samuel. L. Wood from 1912 to 1928, George L. The Tax Claim Bureau the Treasurer's Office, the Assessment Office and the Office of the Prothonotary, are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $4.01 be made payable to John and Ida May Beers, R. D. #1, McDonald, Pa., on property situated in Robinson Township. On August 4, 1952, taxes in the amount of $11.88 were paid before receipts of corrected tax statement on which valuations were reduced by Tax Adjustment #6760. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $4.01 for this over -payment. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Resolution be requested: R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, State Highway Routes 22 and 18 intersect at Florence in Washington County? and WHEREAS, past experience has demonstrated that said intersection is extremely hazardous and dangerous; and WHEREAS, the number of recent fatal accidents at said intersection have demon- strated the necessity for some gegulation of traffic at said intersection in addition to the present stop and warning signs erected Nearby. Now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the State Highway Department and/or Hanover Township be requested to install approved automatic electric traffic signals at said intersection to control the traffic at said intersection; and be it further RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be sent to the Secretary of Highways of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Board of Supervisors of Hanover Township. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that the Board of Commissioners setting as the Registration Commission of Washington County approve a Field Registration Day to be held in North Strabane Township (Boone Terrace), at Joy Chapel's on August 29, 1952. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that George Abd, Assistant Chief County Detective, be allowed to use the County car for the purpose of attending the F.B.I. School at Washington,D. C. His advanced expenses should be allowed in the amount of $300.00 as provided by the Budget; if expenses attending the School amount to less than $300.00, refund of the differ- ence should be made to the County Treasurer and if expenses amount to more than the appropriation an itemized bill should be rendered which shall be taken under advisement by the Board of County Commissioners.
