BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
FRANCIS E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a right of way and easement over, and a
portion of, the lands of Adlia Rossell, situate in Granville, East Pike Run Township, Washington
County, Pennsylvania, as shown on the plans prepared in connection with the flood control pro-
ject now in progress in the vicinity thereof, be dondemned for the purposes thereof and the
County Solicit&r is hereby authorized to take any and all appropriate steps and actions to legal17
acquire the said right of way and land.
Duly adopted and passed this 25th day of August, 1952.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted:
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, it has become necessary that the County of Washington, Pennsylvania,
acquire a portion of the lands of John W. Neason, Jr., situate in Granville, East Pike Run Town-
ship, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and a right of way or easement thereon for the purposes
of and in connection with the flood control project being undertaken in the vicinity thereof; and
WHEREAS, the said County of Washington has been unable to acquire the same
through amicable negotiations, it is the desire of the said County to condemn the said 3"d
and right of way;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a right of way and easement over, and a
portion of, the lands of John W. Neason, Jr., situate in Granville, East Pike Run Township,
Washington County, Pennsylvania, as shown on the plans prepared in bonnection with the flood
control project now in progress in the vicinity, thereof, be condemned for the purpose thereof
and the County Solicitor is hereby authorized to take any and all appropriate steps and actions
to legally acquire the said right of way and land.
Duly adopted and passed this 25th day of August, 1952.
Motion carried.

adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Resolution be
R E S O L U T I 0 N
WHEREAS, the Board of Washington County Commissioners did by resolution duly
passed and adopted at a regular meeting held in the Washington County Court House on August d,.,
1950, approve the project for flood control on Pike and Gorby Runs, Granville, Washington County,
Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the County of Washington pursuant to said resolution did execute the
necessary assurances in connection with said project; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Engineers has found it advisable to extend the scope of the
project on both Gorby and Pike Runs; and
WHEREAS, the Act of Congress, as amended, required certain assurances and coopera-
tion from the County of Washington with respect to said additions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington pledges such
cooperation as may be required or necessary to carry out the said additions to the project, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of Washington execute assurances to the Secretary of
the Army that it will:
(a) Provide without cost to the United States all lands, easements
and rights -of -way necessary for the construction of the additions to the project
for flood control on Pike Run and its tributary, Gorby Run, at Granville, Wash-
ington County, Pennsylvania;

(b) Hold and save the United States free from damages due,to the
construction works; and
