Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Fred Caruso, Sealer of Weights
and Measures and William Crockett, Assistant Sealer of Weights and Measures, be given $150.00
for expenses to attend the Sealer of Weights and Measures} Convention at Allentovm, Pa., on
September 23, 24, 25 and 26, 1952.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

A meeting was held on Friday, September 12, 1952, at 11:00 a.m., EDST., in
the Office of the County Commissioners for the opening of bids for the furnishing and deliver-
ing of all materials and to do and perform all work, in accordance with the specifications, on
the improvement and re -enforcement of the Smith Bridge, Ten Mile Creek ##39, in Amwell Township,
Washington County. Those present at the meeting were Commissioners Pettit, Mazza, Deputy Con-
troller Dentel and Chief Engineer Crumrine.
In accordanoe with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were
opened:

authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivery of Tax Assessment Supplies for
the year 1953, said bids to be received in the Office of the County Controller, Court House,
Washington.. Pa., until 11:00 o'clock, a.m., EDST, And opened immediately thereafter.
Motion carried.
Deputy Controller Dental was called into the meeting for the purpose of avrd-
ing the contract for the improvement and re -enforcement of the Smith Bridge, Ten bile Creek #39,

in Amwell Township, Washington County, be awarded to CHARLES C. BISSETT, New Freeport, Pa., for
the sum of 31..975.35; this bid being the lowest responsible bid received.

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Resolution be
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Board of Washington County Commissioners did by resolution dully
passed and adopted at a regular meeting held in the Washington County Court House on Friday,
September 12, 1952, approve the project for flood control and channel improvement on Burgetts
Fork of Raccoon Creek in Smith Township and Burgettstown Borough, Washington County, Pennsyl-
vania; and
WHEREAS, the County, of Washington ]pursuant to said resolution did execute the
necessary assurances in connection with the said project; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Engineers has found it advisable to revise the alignment
of the center line of the channel of Burgetts Fork from Station 72 / 0- to Station 71* � 50 in
accordance with Plan of Revisions as prepared by the Corps of Engineers, dated August 7, 1952;
File No. 0345 P1-100/1; and
WHEREAS., the Act of Congress, as amended, required certain assurances and
cooperation from the County of Washington with respect to said revisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington pledges such
cooperation as may be required or necessary to carry out the work proposed on the above noted
Plan, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of Washington execute assurances to the
Secretary of the Army that it w3.1.1;
(a) Provide without cost to the United States all lands, easements
and rights -of -way necessary for the construction of the revised section of
the flood control project on Burgetts Fork, in Burgettstown Borough, Washing-
ton County, Pennsylvania, as shown on plan File No. 0345 PI 3.00/1, prepared
by Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army, and dated August 7, 1952;
(b) Hold and save the United States free from damages due to the
construction works; and
(c) Maintain and operate all the works after completion in. accord- -
ante wiuh regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Army.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Washington, a municipal corpora-
tion of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hereby assures the Secretary of the Army that it
will;
(a) Provide without cost to the United States all lands, easements
and rights -of -way necessary for the construction of the revised section of the
flood control project on Burgetts Fork, in Burgettstown Borough, Washington
County, Pennsylvania, and as shown on Plan File No. 0345 PI-100f1; prepared by
the Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army; and dated August 7, 1952.
(b) Hold and save the United States free from damages due to the
construction works; and
(c) Maintain and operate all the works after completion in accor-
dance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Army.
Motion carried.
