Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the damage claim of Gus
Clement, in the amount of $254.21 be approved for payment, damages resulting from the Flood
Control Project in East Pike Run Township.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Commissioners go on
record to purchase a Pako Electrogloss Dryer, for the sum of $324.00, to be purchased from the
Liberty Photo Supply Company, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This dryer being a nationally adver-
tised item and the sum of $324.00 the lowest possible price.
Motion unanimously carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
pettit, Lane and Mazza.
The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County
of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for
One Hundred Thousand (100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded
and adopted by said Board, to -wit:
"WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One
Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the
year 1952, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed
and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1953; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of
Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the
County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate

a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to
be levied and collected during the year 1953, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to
repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue
a note therefor, payable August 7, 1953, with interest from date of said note at the rate of
One (1) per cent, per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Oommozmrealth of Pennsylvania, which
said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and
issued as follows:
WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, WASHINGTON, PA................................$100,000.000
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion of Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the resignation of John
Mascaro, Assistant Field Assessor in the Tax Assessment Office, be accepted; this action being
effective December 1, 1952.
Motion carried.
Motion of Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the
amount of $15.29 be made payable to D. W. Wible, said refund to cover Personal Property Tax
paid September 24, 191+9 on 1J+ shares of U. S. Steel; August 1, 1950 on 1+2 shares of U. S. Steel;
August 1, 1951 on 42 shares of U. S. Steel, these shares were inadvertently returned for said
years, when he only owned 7 shares in 1949 and 21 shares for 1950 and 1951. Therefore, the
Personal Property Department of the Tax Assessment Office is authorized to prepare said voucher
in the amount of $15.29 for this payment.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the
amount of $61.37 be made payable to Dr. Arthur L. Hecht, c/o Smith Building, Room #201, Wash-
ington, Pennsylvania on property situated in the Borough of East Washington, property described
as 2 story brick house - garage - lot. This refund being made, due to the fact, that on June
13, 1952 the amount of $61.37 was paid by Raymond and Elizabeth Webb; the same amount of $61.37
was again paid on August 1, 1952 by Elizabeth J. Hecht, for the 1952 County Tax, through a tax
adjustment. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare the said voucher for the
refund of this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Washington County Law
Library Committee, be authorized to invite a Shelving Representative of the Remington -Rand
Company to make the necessary survey on enlarging the shelf accommodations in the Law Library.
Lotion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following Resolution in
regard to sale of property for unpaid taxes by the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau be adopted:

Motion of Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the final bills as submit-
ted by the District Attorney -Is Office, covering expenses of Geroge Abd, while attending F.B.I.
School, Washington, D. C., in the amount of $172,37 be approved for payment.
