LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion of Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that James L. Small, Assistant Mechanic in the County Garage, be granted a leave of absence for a period of three months; effective November 15, 1952. Motion carried. Lotion of Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Board of County Commis- sioners go on record as contemplating renovation of the Old Detention Home on Wiest Beau Street to house the Department of Schools. Before this action is taken they will consider meeting with the members of City Council in regards to a City -County Building. Motion carried. Motion of Mr. mane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Louis J. Wilson, be appointed as Field Assessor, in the Tax Asseswment Office; this action being effective November 15, 1952. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Decembe 5, 19 2 AT Chief Clerk NO. 78 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., November 28, 1952 Board of County Commissioners and Deputy Controller, met in special session for the purpose of opening bids for a Mailing Machine With Postage Meter. Those present at the meeting were Messrs. Pettit, Mazza and Deputy Controller Dentel. enclosed. Only one bid received from the Piney -Bowes Incorporated with the proper check Motion of Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, •that due to the fact, that in - advertenly the amount of the bid was omittst, and upon the advise of the County Commissioners Solicitor, it was advised to contact the bidder and advise of the error and giving them the opportunity to rectify same.
