LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS NO. 93 Office of the County Commissioners k Washington, Pa., February 13, 1953 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Massa. Y Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that E. M. Lheureau, Jr., Director of Tax Claim Bureau, be appointed Chief Assessor, of Washington County; this action being effective February 169 1953. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Anthony L. Marino, be appoint- ed Solicitor in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being effective February 16, 1953- Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Albert Tomsic, be appointed Director of the Tax Claim Bureau; this action being effective March 1, 1953. a Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza., that the reduction in assessment of the Langeloth Steel Company, Inc., assessment be made retroactive to January 1, 1952; as per the following statement: We wish to inform you that we represent the Langeloth Steel Company, Inc., who I are the owners of certain property in Langeloth, Smith Township, Pennsylvania. The Langeloth Steel Company are in the act of dismantling and removing from the property the buildings and structures that it purchased from the American Zinc & Chemical Company. During the year 1950-51 the following buildings have been dismantled and re- moved from the property, and the assessed valuations of the same are set opposite the said buildings: Four furnace buildings 70 ft x 136 ft Steel Construction (March 1950)................... 122000.00 Crusher Building 70 ft x 400 ft steel construction (July 1950)................................. 15,OOO.00 Acid Building 140 ft x 220 feet - Steel construction (Nov. 1950)................................. 12,000.00 Concentrator Building -Wood Const................ 500.00 Storehouse - Wood Const ........................... 400.00 Sintering Building - Zinc Siding ..................$ 600.00 Coal Bridge ....................................... 10,000.00 Will your Commissioners make a proper adjustment on the assessment for the year 1952, so that our clients may make immediate payment of the taxes due for the year. If there is any question about any of these matters, will you kindly communicate with our office so that we may meet with the County Commissioners concerning the same. We hope that this adjustment can be satisfactorily made within the nex few days so that there will not be any penalty added to the taxes now due on the said property. very truly yours, By: I. C.
