Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and Lane.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Steve Shook, Chief Registrar
of the Registration Office, be transferred to the Tax Claim Bureau as Director; this action
being effective March 1, 1953•
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that G. B. Gaster, Assistant Regis-
trar of the Registration Office, be promoted to Chief Registrar of the Registration Office; this
action being effective March 1, 1953•
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Tax Claim Bureau be author-
ized to prepare a voucher for refund in the amount of $72*43 for 1951 County Tax paid on May
6, 1952, to the Tax Claim Bureau, be made payable to Randolph Nokovick, R. D. 3, Burgettstown,
Pennsylvania, on property situate in Smith Township. This refund being made, due to the fact,
that on May 5, 1952, the amount of 72.11, was paid for the 1951 County Tax, to the County
Treasurer. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund
of this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Board for the Assessment
and Revision of Taxes be authorized to prepare vouchers for refund in the total amount of $5.43,
in favor of Andrew Kotora, R. D. 5, Box 38 Washington, Pennsylvania, listed on the assessment
records c/o lst Federal Savings & Loan Association, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania for county taxes
paid for the years 1950, 1951, and 1952, on a duplicate assessment of Lot - 0.70603 acres sur-
face assessed at $200., adj. H. J. Mansfield assessed for said years to Warrington, Glenn E.,
R. D. 5, Washington, Pennsylvania, inCanton Township; receipts for which were shown. The 1950
taxes paid July 7, 1950s 1951 taxes paid June 2, 1951 and 1952 taxes paid June 9, 1952• This
double assessment - or -duplication continued on the records and taxes paid by Andrew Kotora
and Glenn Warrington each year. All records for said years to be corrected accordingly and
attested copies for this minute to be furnished the Canton Township Taxing authoritites as a
basis for refund of local taxes paid. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is authorized to
prepare said voucher for this duplicate assessment.

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Board for the Assessment
and Revision of Taxes be authorized to prepare vouchers for refund in the total amount of $370.1
in favor of Spriggs, Bessie A., (William now deceigsed), 155 Springfield Avenue, Washington,
Pennsylvarf a, for County Taxes paid for the years 1950, taxes paid June 1, 1950, 1951 taxes
paid June 28, 1951, and 1952 taxes paid June 11, 1952, on a duplicate assessment of a 6 room
frame house assessed at 1,020; lot assessed at 350; located at 132 McGiffin Avenue, making a
total assessment of $1070., receipts for which were shown. This assessment was entered in the
