BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

BEGINNING at a point on the South Side of West Beau Street, corner of lot hereby
conveyed and Lot No. 126 in the original plan of said Borough, formerly owned by Mrs. I. Y.
Hamilton, thence South 110 57' West along said Hamilton lot a distance of 240 feet, more or �
less, to Cherry Avenue; thence along the Northern Side of Cherry Avenue South 780 19' West, a
distance of 31.5 feet to corner of lot now or formerly of George SiWder, .thenee North 120 17'
i East along lots now or formerly owned by George Snyder and James A. Magill V40 feet, more or
less, to West Beau Street; thence along the Southern side of West Beau St "t' North 780 19'
East 30.83 feet, more or less, to a point, the place of beginning. Upon which is erected a
frame and brick dwelling fronting on Beau Street and a two-story brick building fronting on
Cherry Avenue.
(2) ALL that certain lot or parcel of ground situate in the First Ward of the
City of Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania, fronting thirty (30) feet, more or less.,
on the North side of West Cherry Avenue, and extending back therefrom in a Northmardly direction {
of the same uniform width a distance of One Hundred Twenty (120) feet to other land of the said-
George C. Hear, at. al., said lot being bounded on the North and East by other land of the said
George C. Hear, at. al., and on the West by land now or formerly of Nary V. Patterson.
I (3) ALL that certain lot or piece of land situate in the City of Washington,
Washington County, Pennsylvania, bounded on the North by West Beau Street and fronting hereon
thirty (30) feet and extending back therefrom of uniform width of thirty (30) feet for a dis-
tanee of 121 feet, more or less, to a line: being bounded'on the East by lot pow or formerly
of Mrs. Nary D. Steen, on the South by lot now or formerly of John N. Patterson, and said lot
of land hereby conveyed being part of Lot No. 127 in the general plan of the Borough of
Washington.

WHEREAS, it appears that the aforesaid sum or price is reasonable and that it
would be to the great advantage of the County to purchase the said lot of ground by reason of
the necessity of the County as aforesaid and for the further reason that the said described
property adjoins the County Seat with the Court House and Jail erected thereon, and adjoins
the property of the County to the West of said Court House and Jail, upon which is erected the I
County Garage, NOW THEREFORE BE ITs i
RESOLVED, that for the reasons set forth above., there exists a necessity for the
acquisition of the ground for the purposes set forth above; that by reason of the advantages !
resulting therefrom, as set forth above, the aforesaid option is hereby accepted, subject to
the approval of the Court of Quarter Sessions which said approval the County Solicitor is here-
by authorized-and directed to seek.
I Notion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that John J. Rastoka, be appointed
as a Linesman in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retroactive to March 10, 1953• !
Motion carried. `
There being no futher business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

Office of the'County Commissioners for the purpose of opening bids for the furnishing and
delivering of 21 Registers and Orphans Court Estate Index Books and 5 Registers and Orphans I
Court Proceeding Index Books, for use in the Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans'
Court Office of Washington County, Pennsylvania. Those present at the meting were Comm4issionersi

i Pettit, Mazza and County Controller Roule.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bid was open-
ad and read.
