TO: Commissioners of Washington County Washington, Pennsylvania - In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing and delivery of 2030 bronze grave markers with brass rods. Must be delivered by May 11, 1953. SHCIFICATIONS 1. The face of the marker must duplicate the discharge button of the war or campaign in which the veteran served, except in the case of Korean markers. Korean markers must contain the word "Korea" and a facsimile of the World War II discharge button. 2. Metallic content of the marker shall be as specified in an Act, approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the 13th day of April, 1929, which calls for the following proportions: i Copper, eighty-five per centum, tin, five per centum, zinc, five per centum; and lead, five per centum and such manufacturer or manufactures shall be liable to the County to which they furnish such markers to an amount equal j to the amount paid to them by the County for the same in the event that it shall be proved that such were not the proportions of the metals in such bronze i markers. 3. There must be three lugs attached to the marker, which must be perforated so that the flag staff can be placed down through and rest on the third lug. 4,, Rods must be a minimum of two feet long and a minimum of three eights of an inch in diameter. I 5. The rods shall be made of brass and they must be so constructed that they can be screwed in- to the bottom of the bronze markers. f ! $3100.00 Amount of Bid.
