LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS 1?3 E There not being any Commissioners present, the bids were initialed by Deputy Controller Dentel and Chief Clerk Di Filippo, and action on opening the bids deferred until a later date. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: June 5, 3 ATTES of Clerk NO. 111 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 23, 1953 Board of County Commissioners. in regular session, those present being Messrs. Lane, Mazza and Deputy Controller Dentel. The purpose of the meeting was to take action on the opening of bids in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller on furnishing and delivery of Two (2) standard All Steel Station Wagons, bids were opened on April 22,,1953- Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane,that the bid for the Two (2) Standard All Steel Station Wagons Plymouth be awarded to GUY WOODWARD, 235 E. Maiden Street, Washingtons Pa., for the amount of $2976.50; this bid' -being the lowest bid received. One car to be used at the Institution District the other for use of the County Commissioners. Motion carried. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to -wit: "WHER&S, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($1OOpOOO.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1953, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected -by the County during the year 1953; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Wash- ington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collected during the year 1953, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable August 7, 1953, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one (1) per cent, per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, WASHINGTON, PA.................................$100.9000.00" Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Fred A. Caruso, employee of Sealer of Weights and Measures Department, be granted a Leave of Absence as per his letter dated April 22, 1953- This leave to be effective from April 27, 1953 to May 19, 1953 inclusive. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned.
