Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Colvin Swingle be employeed as
an Assistant Engineer in the Court House; this action is retroactive to August 1, 1953.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.
Board of Commissioners ,met with Contractor Charles C. Bissett, in regards to
`channel work on Chartiers Creek and by mutual agreement his original bid was reactivated.
Whereas, the County of Washington, advertised for bids fRr Channel work on
Chartiers Creek; and
Whereas, Charles C. Bissett was lowest bidder on the bids duly advertised in
connection with said project; and
Whereas, the said low bid was accepted; and
Whereas, by mutual agreement of the County and the said Charles rG. Bissett, by
reason of the possibility of state aid for said project, the said action was nullified and set
aside; and
Whereas, it now appears that there is no possibility of state aid, and that the
County will have to preform the said work in accordance with the original plans and proposals;
and
Whereas, the said Charles C. Bissett has agreed that his said bid be reinstated
for consideration by the County of Washington
Now therefore, on motion duly made and seconded, the said bid of Charles C.
Bissett is hereby accepted and a contract for said channel work on Chartiers Creek between the
County of Washington and Charles C. Bissett for the sum of $279593.30 is hereby approved.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.
