LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS t9 L n Company, on plumbing, be accepted in the amount of $2,934.00. Hiles and Lightholder, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, be accepted for the bid on Electric Firing and Fixtures, in the amount of $39500.00. These bids being awarded to the lowest responsible bidders. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. August , 953 ATTEST: 4 hief Clerk NO. 143 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 26, 1953 Board of 'County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund for the 1953 County Tax, in the amount of e89 be made payable to Henry M. Badzik, 435 Kenneth St., Donora, Pa. This refund is made due to the fact that said tax was paid on July 1, 1953, and July 20, 1953, property situate on Lot 8, Block 17, Thompson Avenue, Donora, Pa. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare the said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Tax Claim Bureau, be author- ized to make a refund for the 1952 County Tax, in the amount of 1.05, paid on August 18, 19539 to the Tax Claim Bureau, be made payable to Edward and Dora Monaco, Box #152, Cecil Pennsylvania, This refund to be made on property situate in Cecil Township and described as Lot 0.531 acre. Refund being made, due to the fact that on July 30, 1953, the amount of $loll was paid on the 1952 County Tax on the above property by Edward and Dora Monaco, by receipt number 4475. A refund for this duplicate payment is requested by Steve A. Shook, Director of the Tax Claim Bureau. Motion carried. Pettit, Lane and Solicitor, David H. Weiner. MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Lotion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, .that •the: following -resolution �bo THE WASHINGTON AIRPORT ASSOCIATION, INC., has indicated an intention to convey to the County of Washington, the Airport heretofore owned by it in South Franklin Town- ship, Washington County., Pennsylvania; and the said Washington Airport Association, Inc., has executed and delivered to the County of Washington a deed for said Airport as a gift, provided the said County of Wash- ington agrees to accept the same and maintain and operate the said Airport, but subject however to the payment of the follwoing indebtedness: Tri-State Aviation, Inc. Richard M. Warrick Milton Moore - $2,000.00 principal and 2 years intrerest WHEREAS, it appears that said indebtedness to the Tri-State Aviation, Inc., can be re -paid by credit on rent due from said Tri-State Aviation, Inc., for its use and operation of the said Airport; and WHEREAS, it appearing that the beat interests of the County of Washington and of the tax -payers thereof require that the County of Washington operate an airport in said County for greater industrial development and population growth in said County; and WHEREAS, it appears that the said Airport has been valued in excess of $100,000*00 and for the reasons aforesaid the acceptance of said deed and the operation and maintenance of said Airport would be to the advantage of the County of Washington and the tax -payers thereof. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Washington accept the delivery I of the deed by the Washington Airport Association, Inc., of its Airport to the County of Wash- ington; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Washington, execute and deliver to the -Tri-State Aviation, Inc., a lease for the use and operation of said Airport for a term of six years, in accordance with the terms set forth in the lease already executed by the said Tri-State Aviation, Inc.; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Francis E. Pettit be appointed as Attorney -in -fact before and in behalf of the said County of Washington to acknowledge the said lease for any person authorized by law to take such acknowledgment. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that we immediately take$an inventory of all the property we have acquired by virtue of the resolution that we have adopted this date, pertaining to the Washington County Airport. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Tri-State Aviation, Company, Inc., close the books as of August 31, 1953, and that they prepare a new set of books in com- pliance with the County Controllers recommendation. Motion carried. e There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned.
