Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., April 18, 2002
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners John P. Bevec,
Diana L. Irey and J. Bracken Burns, Sr. and Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Judge Richard DiSalle,
Solicitor; Cathi Kresh, Administrator/Chief Clerk; Michelle Miller, Director of Human Resources; Chris Brady, Court
Administrator; Linda Metz, Observer -Reporter; Stacey Wolford, Valley Independent and Cody Knotts, interested citizen.
Chairman Bevec called the meeting to order at approximately 11:00 a.m. and noted that an Executive Session was
held on April 17, 2002 to discuss personnel matters.
Chairman Bevec entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 1-S-02 dated January 3, 2002 (which was adjourned
on January 7, 2002).
Moved by Mrs. Irey, to approve Minute No. 1-S-02 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Namie — Yes; Mr. Burns — Yes;
Mrs. Irey — Yes; Mr. Bevec — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
NEW BUSINESS
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, to approve the 2002 wages on the respective departmental salary
schedules which reflects the negotiated wage increases for bargaining unit positions as negotiated with Pennsylvania
Social Services Union Local 668 (PSSU) and Service Employees International Union Local 585 (SEIU). These wage
rates are effective January 1, 2002.

Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Bevec -Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the 2002 wages on the respective departmental salary
schedule which reflects the arbitration award of wage increases for bargaining unit positions within Teamsters Local 205
(Jail Guards) effective January 1, 2002.

Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Bevec - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Bevec noted for the record it is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2002
salary schedules may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.

Chris Brady was present on behalf of Judge Gladden who could not attend the meeting. Ms. Brady presented
correspondence from Judge Gladden authorizing her to vote in favor of the Memoranda of Understanding previously -
signed by the Judge with respect to Court hiring since the last Salary Board meeting. He noted this authorization is for
the April 18, 2002 meeting only.
