Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., March 18, 2004
The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office
Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, J.
Bracken Burns, Sr. and Diana L. Irey; and Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Chris Weller, Court
Administrator; Lyn DeHaven, Solicitor; Mary E. Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant;
Michelle Miller Kotula and Carrie Taylor, Human Resources; and Debbie Bardella, Recorder of Deeds.
Co -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:00 a.m.
Co -Chairman Burns entertained a motion to approve Minute Nos. 5-S-03 dated December 18, 2003 and 1-S-04
dated January 5, 2004.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute Nos. 5-S-03 and 1-S-04 as written.

RATIFICATION OF MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING
COURTS
Chris Weller was present to approve items pertaining to the Courts for President Judge Gilmore, who could not
attend the meeting due to trial term.
ADULT PROBATION
Clerk Typist II, rate 11.955/hour, create the per diem position, eff. 1/26/04 until S. Keller returns to work from a
LOA. The position will work three days per week or six days per pay period

Deputy due to the medical loa of M. Ward. S. Sedlitsky will be filling the position, eff. 3/22/04. The add'l 2,000
will be funded at a rate of 66% by the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement and 33% by Washington County.

Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Namie, to grant a 3%across the board increase. Salaried employees
hired during 2003 are eligible to receive a 3% across the board increase on their anniversary date.

budget). This temp. position will be for the time period H. Dames is on paid maternity leave. Once H. Dames is
on unpaid leave, the temp. position will be abolished. The temp. employee will then be paid out of H. Dames'
slot.
