Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., March 10, 2005
The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office
Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi and
J. Bracken Burns, Sr. and Controller Michael Namie. Absent being: Commissioner Diana L. Irey who had a family
emergency, Also being present: Sheriff John Rheel; Mary Lynn Drewitz; Solicitor, Mary E. Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda
Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Joann Metz, Commissioners Office, Michelle Miller Kotula and Carrie Taylor, Human
Resources; Harry Sabatasse, John Adams, Abe Nasim, Ron Luci and Carl Maggi, interested citizens.
Co -Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:00 a.m.
Co -Chairman Maggi entertained a motion to approve Minute Nos. 5-S-04 dated December 16, 2004 and 1-S-05
dated January 5, 2005.
Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute Nos. 5-S-04 and 1-S-05 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Namie - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.

RATIFICATION OF MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING
SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Lori Goblesky, Cashier II, Grade 4, Step 3, rate 24,168.69, increase to 29,612.96, increase from 65 to 80 hours
Moved by Mr. Rheel, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the foregoing Memorandum of Understanding for the
Sheriffs Office.

Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Miller Kotula presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the following items:
WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEALS
Abe Nasim, $750.00/month, increase to $800/month, extend contract thru 12/31/07 and increase compensation,
eff. 1/ 13/ 05
BillWest, $200/day (not to exceed $12,000/calendar year), extend contract thru 12/31/07
Bob Lusk, $1,000/month, extend contract thru 12/31/07
Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the foregoing Memorandum of Understanding.

RATIFICATION OF MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDINGS - jAnuary 3.2005 thru March 9.2005:
Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the ratifications of Memorandums of Understandings
as listed below:
4162 - OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Manager, occupational Safety and Health, 39,415.00 (plus benefits equal to 14,600 annually) reclassify to
Occupational Safety and Health Specialist, 20,000 to 25,000, reclassify to FT salaried position to a PT salaried
position, eff. 1-10-05
42321- TAIL ADMINSITRATION
(TP) Captain, create one (1) Temp. position due to the unpaid medical leave of absence of
M. Watson and will be eliminated when she returns to work or vacates the position.

Co -Chairman Maggi stated for the record items noted during 2005 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is
the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2005 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Co -Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
