HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 8-S-07 - 8-16-2007 - SALARYMINUTE SALARY BOARD Minute No. ,S-S-UT Washington County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 16, 2007 The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken Burns and Diana L. Irey; Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Scott Fergus, Director of Administration; Tim McCullough and Chelsea Hartzell, Human Resources; Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; John Adams, interested citizen; Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter and Jim Jefferson, WJPA. Co -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:15a.m. Co -Chairman Burns entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 7-S-07 dated July 19, 2007. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. 7-S-07 as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENTS John Adams, of Avella, commented on the elected officials receiving a pay increase and stated taxpayers can not afford this. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION COURTS ADULT PROBATION Probation Officer II, abolish the Temp. position, eff. 8/6/07 Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing Court -related item. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. TAX REVENUE Certified Assessors and Real Estate Assessors, retain at 7.5 hours per day on a permanent basis, eff. 7/2/07. The employees in these positions were temporarily working the extended hours on a trial basis for the past six months. PARKS Grant Cooper, summer employee, 7.15/hour, extend employment thru 9/28/07 Thomas Gazica, PT employee, 7.25/hour, extend employment thru 9/30/07 MAINTENANCE Janet Osiecki, Maint. Coord., retain the hours of the FT, salaried position of Maint. Coord. At eight hours per day at an annual salary equivalent to 30,505.28 on a permanent basis, eff. 7/23/07. Eff, 5/31/07 J. Osiecki was working the increase hours until a replacement was found for the position of Director of Buildings and Grounds. DINUTE BooK SALARY BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Temporary Dietetic Tech., 32,774.82, create the salaried position, eff. 10/15/07. J. Smith, Dietetic Tech. will be on paid medical leave due to surgery and off for six to twelve weeks. This position will be eliminated when J. Smith returns from medical leave. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel items. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVAL TO RATIFY MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING TULY 19 THROUGH AUGUST 15. 2007 41421— PURCHASING Inventory Control Specialist/Buyer,13.00/hour, create one temp. position to work 191/z hours per week while H. Dames is on paid maternity leave. The temp. position will be eliminated when H. Dames goes on unpaid leave. 4172 — INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Telecommunications Mgr.,/Application Trustee, 35,513.63, create one FT position, eff. 8/3/07 Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the following items as listed for each department. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes. Motion carried unanimously.
