SALARY BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., September 20, 2007
The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office
Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken
Burns and Diana L. Irey; Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Scott Fergus, Director of Administration;
Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk, Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Tim McCullough, Human Resources; Linda Belcher,
Administrative Assistant; John Adams, Mike Neville and Carl Maggi, interested citizen; Barbara Miller, Observer -
Reporter.
Co -Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:55a.m.
Co -Chairman Maggi entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 8-S-07 dated August 16, 2007.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving Minute No. 8-S-07 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey — Yes;
Mr. Burns — Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
John Adams, of Avella, commented on the elected officials receiving a pay increase and stated taxpayers can not
afford this.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
PLANNING
Land Development Coordinator, abolish the FT salaried position, eff. 9/6/07
Land Use Planner, 28,000.00 to 34,000.00, create FT salaried position, eff. 9/6/07. The salary range for the
position is 26,567 — 39,850.00.
MH/MR
MR Caseworker II, 29,000.00, create temp. FT salaried position, eff. 9/6/07. The salary range for the position is
26,460.00 — 39,690.00.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the foregoing personnel items.

COURTS
Chris Weller, Court Administrator, was present for President Judge O'Dell Seneca, who was not able to attend the
meeting due to a prior commitment.
TUVENILE PROBATION
Probation Officer I, create one Temp. FT position, eff. 8/23/07. This position will be abolished once a
replacement is fond for the position of Juvenile Probation Officer II.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the foregoing Court -related item.

Veterans/Human Services Coordinator, 27,000.00, create one FT position to work 6.5 hours/day and to be
charged 75% to Veterans Affairs and 25% to Human Services, eff. 8/29/07
MAINTENANCE- HEALTH CENTER
Robert Clemens, summer employee, 7.15/hour, extend employment thm 10/31/07
Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the foregoing personnel items.

Co -Chairman Maggi stated for the record items noted during 2007 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is
the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2007 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Co -Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at 11:00 a.m.
