SALARY BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., October 4, 2007
The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office
Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken
Burns and Diana L. Irey; Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Scott Fergus, Director of Administration;
Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk, Mary Lyn Drewitz, Solicitor; Tim McCullough, Human Resources; Linda Belcher,
Administrative Assistant; Carl Maggi, Dave Blose, John Adams, and Harry Sabatasse, interested citizens; Barbara
Miller, Observer -Reporter; Jim Jefferson, WJPA and Stacey Wolford, Valley Independent.
Co -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 10:57a.m.
Co -Chairman Burns entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 9-S-07 dated September 6, 2007.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. 9-S-07 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey — Yes;
Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
John Adams, of Avella, commented on the elected officials receiving a pay increase and stated taxpayers can not
afford this.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
President Judge O'Dell was present and took a moment to thank the Board for their cooperation in working with
the Court system regarding the current changes in the Probation Services Offices.
ADULT PROBATION
Marilyn Strang, Conf. Secretary, 27,266.20, increase to 29,000, eff.10/1/07
Moved by Judge O'Dell Seneca, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the foregoing personnel item for the Adult
Probation Office.

Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes.

AGING
Case Management Supervisor to Care Management Supervisor, change in title, eff.10/4/07
CDL Van Driver,12.94/hour, create one per diem position at a Pay Grade 2, eff. 10/4/07. This position will be
funded by HSDF funding and from the Washington County Health Center
HIGHWAY SAFETY
Coordinator/Highway Safety, abolish the FT salaried position, eff. 9/30/07. The Highway Safety grant has been
discontinued for the County.
Clerk Typist II, abolish the vacant PT position, eff. 9/30/07. The Highway Safety grant has been discontinued
for the County.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel items.

MENTAL HEALTH/MENTAL RETARDATION
Administrative Asst. I to Administrative Asst. II, reclassify the vacant FT, salaried position, eff. 10/1/07. This
reclassification is being done to correct and administrative error
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel items.

Co -Chairman Burns stated for the record items noted during 2007 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is
the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2007 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Co -Chairman Burns declared the meeting recessed at 11:04 a.m.
