Washington County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 3, 2008 The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken Burns and Diana L. Irey; Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Scott Fergus, Director of Administration; President Judge Debbie O'Dell Seneca; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Tim McCullough, Director of Human Resources; John Adams and Carl Maggi, interested citizens; Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter and Jim Jefferson, WJPA. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:00a.m. Chairman Maggi entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 3-S-08 dated March 6, 2008. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving Minute No. 3-S-08 as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Namie — Yes; Mrs. Irey — Yes; Mr. Burns — Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENTS John Adams, of Avella, commented on the matter of elected officials receiving a 3% raise. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION President Judge O'Dell Seneca addressed the Board regarding the FITS Program and thanked them for working with the Courts in the expansion of this program. FITS FITS Foreman, 23,500.00, create one FT salaried position, eff. 4/3/08 Moved by Judge O'Dell Seneca, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the foregoing personnel item as listed for the FITS Program. Roll call vote taken: Judge O'Dell Seneca — Yes; Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. ALSO FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION: Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the following personnel items as listed for each department. PARKS Part time employee, 7.50/hour, create position, eff. 5/24/08 thru 9/2/08 JAIL LPN,16.18/hour, create one PT position at 90%, eff. 4/3/08 HEALTH CENTER Housekeeper,13.136/hour, create one FT position at Pay Grade 1— 90%, eff. 4/3/08 SUMMER EMPLOYEES $7.15/hour, create positions for the departments that established summer employees in the 2008 budget, not to exceed budget amount, eff. 5/15/08 thru 8/31/08. 4 7-4 SALARY BOARD MINUTE BOOK WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA m if oIl call vote taeni Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. RATIFY MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING — MARCH 6 — APRIL 2. 2008. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the foregoing memorandum of understanding for the Elections Office. Per diem employee,15.00/hour, create three positions. The job period is scheduled from 3/31/08 thru 4/25/08 Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2008 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
