The Washington County Salary Board met in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office
Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken
Burns and Diana L. Irey; Deputy Controller Randy Vankirk. Also being present: Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Scott
Fergus, Director of Administration; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Steve Toprani,
District Attorney; Tim McCullough, Director of Human Resources; John Adams, interested citizen; Barbara Miller,
Observer -Reporter and Jim Jefferson, WJPA.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:08 a.m.
Chairman Maggi entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 5-S-08 dated May 1, 2008.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving Minute No. 5-S-08 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mrs. Irey — Yes; Mr. Burns — Yes;
Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Vankirk — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
John Adams, of Avella, commented on the matter of the elected officials pay raises.

**The increases will remain as long as the funding is available.
Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the foregoing items for the District Attorney.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH
Casework Supervisor, 43,775.00, create one Temp., FT salaried position, eff. 6/5/08 to work on the
agency's accreditation project, until such time that another Casework Supvr. leaves for CWEL, at which
time this temp. position will be abolished and the employee occupying said position will replace the
departing suprv.
Data Analyst,12.84/hour, create one FT union position, eff. 6/5/08

Chairman Maggi stated for the record items noted during 2008 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is
the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2008 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately 11:15 a.m.
