PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS Minute No. 5-5-89 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 20, 1989 The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, at approximately 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 1989, with the following ,members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Paluso and Acting Deputy Controller Dorisio. Also being present: Chief Clerk Dallatore; Coroner Jackson; Barb Gibbs, Clerk of Courts; Wayne Fleming, Director of Revenue; Margaret Pennline, Personnel Director; Janice Urban, Assistant to the Personnel Director; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Floyd Laubham, Planning Commission; and Pete Skirchak, Herald Standard. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Chairman Mascara noted that approval of Minute No. 1-5-89 would be held in abeyance. Chairman Mascara entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 4-5-89 dated March 23, 1989. Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, approving Minute No. 4-5-89 dated March 23, 1989, as written. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Dorisio - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. 4138-138 - TAX CLAIM a Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, to CREATE a part-time slot of Tax Claim Agent at the hourly rate of 5.710 (80%) to work nine months of the year. NOTE: After six months, the hourly rate would be 7.137. Wayne Fleming, Director of Revenue, explained the need for this position. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Dorisio - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. 4136-136 - TAX ASSESSMENT Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the following payment: Maudie Armstrong, Assessor, Eighty Four - $23.63 Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Dorisio - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS - --- -- ----- 4191-291 - CLERK OF COURTS Barb Gibbs, Clerk of Courts, requested the Board's consideration to :make the per them clot of Clerk Typist I (Rebecca Aloia) a full-time position. �She explained the reasons for her request and outlined the statistics relative 1to the cases that have been turned over to her office from Resources and Investigations. A lengthy discussion followed. Chairman Mascara suggested ;that Ms. Gibbs prepare and submit to the Board members for their review a written report of her statistics; and that in the meantime the per them position be extended for a couple of months. Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, to extend the per them ,slot of Clerk Typist I (Rebecca Aloia) for an additional two months (to ;July 18th) at the same rate. Roll call vote taken: Ms. Gibbs - Yes; Mrs. Dorisio - Yes; Mr. Paluso Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. :SUMMER POSITIONS Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, to CREATE the following ;Summer Positions at the rate of $4.00 per hour to start June 1, unless , otherwise noted: Parke create 12 slots (6 to start immediately) Bridge create 12 clots Health Center create 12 slots Airport create 3 slots Data Processing create I slot Purchasing create I slot Row Offices & Courts create 1 slot each Administration create 8 slots (NOTE: These slots are allocated to Administration but may be assigned to various other departments.)
