Minute No. 3-5-90
Office of the County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., February 22, 1990
The Washington County Salary Board held a special meeting in the Public
Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington,
Pennsylvania, at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 1990, with
the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and
Controller Belcastro. Absent being: Commissioner Paluso. Also being present:
Sheriff Fazzoni; Chief Clerk Dallatore; Marge Pennline, Personnel Director;
Kathy Emery, Assistant Solicitor; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Jon Stevens,
Observer -Reporter; Susan Gilbert, The Canon; and Norm Allan, C. S. McKee.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Mascara noted that approval of Minute Nos. 1-5-90 dated
January 2, 1990 and 2-5-90 dated February 8, 1990, would be held in abeyance.
4197-297 - SHERIFF
Moved by Sheriff Fazzoni, seconded by Mr. Belcastro, to CREATE four (4)
per diem slots of Deputy Sheriff I, Grade 7, (804s) Rate 6.201 retroactive to
February 12, 1990.
Remarks: Sheriff Fazzoni commented that he needed these additional slots due
to the three pending strikes of Washington County, Washington
Hospital and Equitable Gas and the Ralph Good Trial. He stated that
he would like to keep these positions until the trial and strikes are
over.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Fazzoni - Yes; Mr. Belcastro - Yes;
Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Belcastro, approving the
following as listed under each account:
4298-598 - HIGHWAY SAFETY
CREATE position of Assistant Coordinator, Rate 593.46, 16430.00
CREATE position of Assistant Coordinator, Rate 593.46, 15430.00
CREATE position of Secretary, Rate 500.00, 13000.00
ABOLISH position of Assistant Coordinator, Rate 383.65, 9974.90
4293-593 - DUI HIGHWAY SAFETY
ABOLISH slot of Assistant Coordinator
ABOLISH slot of Coordinator
Remarks: It was noted that Highway Safety. and DUI are being combined into one
account which is Highway Safety.

Mr. Belcastro - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.

There being no further business, Chairman Mascara declared the meeting
