The Washington County Salary Board met in session on Thursday, August 23, 198i,
at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being pre-
sent: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Paluso and Controller Beharry., Also
being present: Olga Woodward, Recorder of Deeds; Sheriff Fazzoni; Ferdal Little-
ton, Chief Deputy Sheriff; Kathleen Flynn Reda, Register of Wills; Barbara Gibbs,

Chairman Mascara called the meeting'to order and asked if there were any
corrections, additions or omissions to Minute Nos. 1-S (1-3-84 and 3-8-84), 2-S,
3-S and 4-S. Mrs. Pennline noted that the following corrections should be made
to Minute No. 1-S (3-8-84):
(1) P. 227 - Cynthia Derrico - "3-5-84" should read "3-8-84"
(2) P. 228 (1022) Janice McDonald - 113-15-841' should read "3-26-84"
(3) P. 213 (4461-1021) Patricia Jessop - omit annual equivalent figure
Miss Beharry made some comments concerning these corrections.
Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, that the foregoing corrections
as noted by Mrs. Pennline be made to Minute No. l-S (3-8-84).

No. 1-S (3-8-84) as submitted by her to the Board on 5-31-84 (a copy of which is
attached hereto). Motion died for lack of a second.

Mr. Yoney requested that the position of Clerk Typist I (Edna Tomsic) which
was re-established at the April 26th meeting (see p. 250) pending a review be
retained permanently. He explained to the Board his reasons for the need for
this position. Discussion followed.
Moved by Mr. Yoney that the position of Clerk Typist I (Edna Tomsic) Which
was re-established temporarily at the April 26th meeting be retained permanently.
Motion died for lack of a second.
The following item was presented to the Board for consideration and approval:
Margaret Scott, Bookkeeper I, Grade 4, Step 7, from Rate 7.337
to Rate 8.024, pay at the higher rate -while Claudia Hargrove is
on vacation.
Discussion followed. Miss Beharry made reference to a Resolution adopted by the
Salary Board on 7-1-76 which states, "RESOLVED that no member of the bargaining
unit fill a temporary vacancy in a supervisory position, and further no super-
visory level employee fill another supervisory slot temporarily without the
prior approval of the Salary Board." Question failed for lack of a motion.
