COMMISSIONERS J h- Minute No. 6--S Office of County Commissioners Washington, Pa., September 20, 1984 The Washington County Salary Board met in session on Thursday, September 20, 1984, at approximately 10:35 a.m. in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Paluso and Controller Beharry. Also being present: Judge Gladden; District Attorney Pettit; Coroner Jackson; Chief Clerk Dallatore; Margaret Pennline, Personnel Director; Janice Urban, Office Manager of the Personnel Office; Lou Lignelli, Director of Administration; Executive Assistant DuJordan; Administrative Assistant Davis; Judi Lomago, Execu- tive Secretary; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Wayne Fleming, Chief Assessor; Joanne Sarkett, Brownsville Telegraph; Natalie Moore, The Herald Standard; Jon Stevens, Observer -Reporter; and Lucy Rea, interested citizen. Chairman Mascara called the maeting to order and entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 5-S, each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, that the list of additions/ corrections to Minute No. 1-S (3-8-84) as submitted by Controller Beharry to the Board on 5-31-84 be deleted from the record (see p. 261) as not appropriate to the corrections or additions to the minutes; also, that Minute No. 5-S be approved. Roll call vote taken: Miss Beharry - No; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried. 4181-201 - COURT ADMINISTRATOR Moved by Judge Gladden, seconded by Mr. Paluso, CREATING the position of Assistant to the Court Administrator (Mary Jacqueline Drewitz, new hire) at the rate of $923.08 bi-weekly, effective October 1, 1984; and that this position will be in existence only for the balance of this year and that the position will terminate when Ms. Drewitz becomes Court Administrator on January 1, 1985. Roll call vote taken: Judge Gladden - Yes; Miss Beharry - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. 4194-294 - DISTRICT ATTORNEY Moved by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Paluso, changing the salary of the Assistant District Attorney position (which is presently vacant) from the rate of 961.54, 25,000.00 to 576.92, 15,000.00. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Pettit - Yes; Miss Beharry - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. MASCARA%" ��4C 44AIIARD 1,- PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS P 4136-136 - TAX ASSESSMENT Wayne Fleming, Chief Assessor, requested the Board's consideration and approval in approving additional compensation for the members of the Board of Assessment Appeals for their additional workload as a result of the recent ratio change. Mr. Fleming recommended that each Board member receive additional com- pensation of $2,240 at the end of each of the following months: August, September and October. Discussion followed. Miss Beharry recommended that the method of payment of this additional compensation (total of $6,720 to each Board member) be distributed through the next several pay periods by increasing each Board member'x bi-weekly rate. Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Miss Beharry, approving the additional compensation of $6,720 to each member of the Board of Assessment Appeals; and that effective September 20, 1984, through the month of November, 1984, each Board member's bi-weekly rate be adjusted to reflect the distribution of the $6,720 additional compensation; and that each Board member's bi-weekly rate revert back to their original rate after the $6,720 has been totally distributed and the appeal period ends. Roll call vote taken: Miss Beharry - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. 4111-111 - COMMISSIONERS Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Miss Beharry, approving a rate adjust- ment for Judy Lomago, Executive Secretary, from 580.77, 15,100.00 to 619.23, 16,100.00, effective 9-20-84. Roll call vote taken: Miss Beharry - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously.
